    Summary/Objective

    As a member of the Institutional Advancement team, the Director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving is responsible for the strategic planning, creation, implementation, and maintenance of alumni engagement programs that foster strong relationships and goodwill for the Lees-McRae College with alumni, donors, friends, parents, and current students. This position also oversees Annual Giving and is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating a strategic annual giving program that raises unrestricted and restricted gifts for Lees-McRae College through the solicitation of alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends.

    Responsibilities

    1. Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for alumni engagement, including identifying priorities, setting measurable goals and objectives, and measuring outcomes.2. Build a thriving class agent program of committed and loyal alumni who represent their individual class years to ensure strong connections between alumni, classmates, and the life of the College.3. Develop strong alumni chapters to

    • Promote campus initiatives that support prospective and current students, particularly in recruitment, career development, and job/internship placement.
    • Provide avenues for the exchange of ideas between alumni and the greater College community.
    • Create opportunities for alumni to network and meet each other in their local communities.
    • Support the efforts of the College to keep alumni informed of campus developments.

    4. Establish comprehensive event metrics and advise on industry trends to continuously improve engagement opportunities and ensure appropriate ROI.5. Develop strategies to increase student involvement with alumni and leadership programs; manage collaborative relationships with campus departments (such as Admissions and Communications) and student organizations to identify, promote and executive new and existing programs.6. Design and conduct solicitation programs via direct mail, email, and crowdfunding. Ensure gifts received by these methods are renewed; implement monthly giving and mid-level donor programs; work in coordination Assistant Director of Donor Relations to ensure donors are properly recognized.7. Direct all functions of the College’s annual Giving Day.

    • Develop strategies and processes to update and acquire accurate information to improve biographical information of alumni and donor database records.
    • Develop collaborative relationships across the College community that represent the Office of Institutional Advancement as the major resource and coordinator for fundraising and friend-raising activities.
    • Oversees program plans and budgets for Alumni Engagement.
    • Manages an annual fundraising portfolio of up to 75 prospects including the alumni board.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Advancement.

    As developed and assigned.

    Required Education and Experience

    A minimum bachelor’s degree is required.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    A minimum of five years of experience in alumni relations and annual giving are preferred.

    • concurrent priorities.
    • Demonstrate analytical and fundraising skills with the ability to recognize opportunities,
    • identify critical, high pay-off activities and prioritize them to attain goals.
    • Openness to new ideas and their implementation. Ability to react and adapt to changing
    • situations appropriately.
    • Must also be detail-oriented, well-organized, focused and goal-oriented, with a high level of initiative.
    • Strong commitment to private liberal arts education required; clear understanding of Lees-McRae College’s history, mission, and vision required.
    • Creative, articulate self-starter who possesses strong interpersonal, problem-solving and communication skills and well-developed organizational skills.
    • Entrepreneurial spirit, positive attitude and energy to implement new strategies and meet ambitious goals.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs and experience working in donor management systems.
