Alumni Engagement Coordinator

  • The Alumni Engagement Coordinator assists and executes various parts of the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual giving and alumni relations plan. The Assistant will be responsible for executing all Advancement events including Fall Festival, the Golf Tournament and, Days of Giving. The Coordinator will also work closely with the current senior class, as well as the newly graduated ten years out, building up engagement and philanthropic support.

    Essential Duties Summary
    • Responsible for independent action on projects assigned by the Director or Vice President of Advancement, such as a variety of fundraising initiatives including the College’s annual Giving Day and Young Alumni and Student Giving.
    • Support the Director with annual giving marketing programs and comprehensive direct mail, social media, and electronic fundraising campaigns in support of raising unrestricted funds.
    • Cultivate and personally solicit a portfolio of young alumni leadership gift prospects; and follows up to close gifts and documents pledges accordingly.
    • Work to actively involve alumni in the life of the College and develop mutually beneficial relationships between the College and its graduates including graduates from NHIA.
    • Work with volunteers on events, programs, and peer to peer fundraising for the College setting clear expectation around roles and responsibilities as well as ensuring a rewarding a fulfilling experience for them.
    • Responsible for monitoring, posting, and creating a content calendar for Advancement social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
    • Leads and executes all alumni events and programs (both in-person and virtually) including Fall Festival and the Golf Tournament, College and Stewardship events, and effective volunteer management.
    • Liaison between the Senior Class and the Advancement Office.


    Required Qualifications
    Education
    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    Experience
    • 1-3 years of experience in annual giving or alumni relations preferred.
    • Experience and skill in project management, ideally in managing donor and alumni relations activities for non-profit organization, in higher education.
    • Event management experience is preferred
    Skills and Knowledge
    • Knowledge of higher education philanthropy and alumni relations gained through combination of a liberal arts or business education.
    • Must have ability to innovate, think strategically and conceptually, manage multiple projects, and handle difficult situation with tack and a sense of humor.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent writing and proofing skills are required.
    • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
    • Able to work collaboratively, organize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects while meeting defined deadlines.
    • Ability to travel local and regionally.
    • Familiarity in Banner or other Advancement database preferred.
    • Knowledge of how to work with social media.
    • Familiarity with Canva or other graphic design tool a plus
