Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):
The Student Specialist will work closely with the Staff of Alumni and Parent Relations to support programming and events. This position will assist with administration and content generation for the Ole Connect alumni networking website, volunteer recruitment and management, event planning, data entry, prospect research, and updating class notes on WordPress. The Student Specialist will also provide support for general office duties and signature events (Homecoming and Reunion Weekend).

Duties and Responsibilities:
Chapter, Office & Event Related Responsibilities
Includes, research and analyze prospective volunteer records using Raiser’s Edge. Assemble event packages and thank you notes to volunteers around the country. Manage event registration and record keeping using AlumnIQ registration platform. Update class webpages on St. Olaf WordPress website. Write and mail cards to new Ole parents. Attend local events and provide event support on-site. Office support with email, phone and other tasks as assigned.
Ole Connect Responsibilities
May include reviewing, editing and uploading alumni-created blog content on the Ole Connect networking platform, writing content for network groups, researching topics/articles related to the professional network groups, editing alumni-created content, researching potential volunteers, tracking and updating content development timelines and schedules, and other event support.
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills):
Must be a current St. Olaf student, preferably a first-year, sophomore, or junior student ideally to remain in this position for their time at St. Olaf. Preferably have strong research, writing and editing and phone skills.
