The Division directs and informs students about services and programs that will expand students' educational experiences and prepare them for diverse lives in local and global communities while also leveraging a fully integrated model of support for ECSU that brings together development, alumni relations, and advancement services. Leveraging the expertise that comes from direct tie-in to the student experience, this Division leverages support and partners with stakeholders including the Elizabeth City State University Foundation, ECSU National Alumni Association, ECSU Viking Varsity Club, ECSU Retirees Association and external partners and constituencies. |
Description of Work | The Coordinator for Student, Alumni & Constituent Engagement reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student, Alumni & Constituent Engagement. Assists the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student, Alumni, & Constituent Engagement with the development and implementation of innovative strategies to engage to meet divisional and university goals by increasing the number of engaged alumni and alumni donors. Under supervision, assists in cultivating and broadening alumni interests in financial support of the university, in developing, strengthening and implementing both campus and regional alumni programs and in planning and implementing major homecoming and reunion events. |
Competencies/Knowledge Skills, and Abilities Required in this Position | Must be able to correspond clearly and effectively in person and in writing, excellent customer service skills and fundraising skills. Skills in the use of database management, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). Principles and procedures of record keeping and reporting. Perform responsible and complex administrative work involving the use of independent judgment and personal initiative. Thorough knowledge of college operations and policies with ability to interpret and apply the policies, procedures, laws and regulations of the business unit to which assigned. Coordinate work assignments with others, may oversee and train assigned staff. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Adapt methods to solve problems, use creativity to resolve complex issues. Skilled at customer service and dealing with the public, can respond to difficult requests and inquiries. Bachelor's degree required. |
Minimum Training and Experience | Possess a Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communication, business administration, or related field, with at least one year of higher education experience in project management, budget, strategic outreach, and administrative support, and/or a combination of education and experience. |
