Patient Transport Car Technician

Patient Transport Car (PTC) Technicians respond to contracted facilities to transport behavioral health patients that do not require an ambulance safely between hospitals and in-patient behavioral health facilities. PTC Technicians also transport mentally competent ambulatory or wheelchair bound patients being discharged that do not meet any other reasons for medical necessity to be transported by ambulance to a destination of the patients choosing.

Schedule: 8pm -8am Rotating 12-hour shifts with every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Off (Work M-Tu, off W-Th, work F-S-S, off M-Tu, work W-Th, off F-S-S)

Salary: Starting pay is $14.50/hr, but negotiable with experience.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Operate PTC or wheelchair van in conjunction with applicable safety policies and laws
• Respond to healthcare facilities and transport non-emergent behavioral health patients to other in-patient mental health facilities
• Respond to healthcare facilities and transport patients being discharged to destinations of their choosing via car or wheelchair van.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights
• Transport patients in accordance with outlined policies and procedures
• Document transports via forms designed for PTC program.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
• Perform station details as assigned by the Regional Operations Director.

Competencies/Requirements

• Valid Drivers License
• No experience necessary - Training will be provided
