Ambulatory Services Director directs the staff and programs of the ambulatory services department. Oversees, administers, and coordinates all activities and operations of the ambulatory services for the health care facility, including outpatient clinics, outpatient surgery, and urgent care centers. Being an Ambulatory Services Director develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for ambulatory services and programs. Maintains working relationships with community agencies. Additionally, Ambulatory Services Director ensures non-emergency care clinics operate within budget and in accordance with performance standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Ambulatory Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Day shift
    Start time between 5am and 9am
    Call required

    The registered nurse provides direct and indirect nursing care dependent upon the department's age group and level of nursing care needed. Guides and directs other members of the care team and auxiliary personnel.

    Responsibilities of this position include:

    • Knowledgeable in the nursing process (assess, diagnosis, plan, implement, evaluate) and follows through with interventions. Develops and carries out plan of care for patients and utilizes appropriate resources.
    • Visually observes and interprets alterations in physiological and psychological status of all patients.
    • Provides holistic nursing care to patients that incorporates family involvement.
    • Reports alterations in conditions promptly and immediately to physician/family of acuity and patient's status.
    • Documents care provided and data elements in the patient's medical record.
    • Collaborates with members of the medical staff to provide quality patient care.

    Requirements of this position include:

    • Associates Degree; Bachelors Degree preferred
    • Specialty areas may require specific level of experience.
    • Able to effectively communicate with care team, patient and family members.
    • Current RN license to practice in the State of Wisconsin upon hire; BLS (required); ACLS, PALS, NRP certification (if applicable to specialty area).
