Position will supervise the operation and maintenance of the carousel, train, and amusement facilities, plan events, maintain records and prepare reports, and other related work. Responsibilities include: assist with recruitment and selection of staff; assign, direct, train, and inspect work of staff; coach and evaluate staff performance; develop schedules; plan and promote holiday and special events; receive reservation information; prepare contracts; ensure daily safety of mechanical devices and readiness for State inspections; account for revenue and submit for processing; meet with the public; make presentations explaining history and uniqueness of amusement assets; assist callers and answer questions; supervise and assist maintenance staff in the maintenance of amusement assets and related facilities; prepare and maintain information on City website and social media; attend meetings and trainings; educate public on proper use and safety; oversee volunteers and outside contractor.

To Compete in the Selection Process: Associate's degree with coursework in business administration, marketing, or tourism, and moderate experience in the operation, maintenance, and restoration of amusement equipment and facilities, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have thorough knowledge of: practices, methods, and policies used in carousel, train, and amusement facility operations and maintenance; methods and materials in the construction, maintenance, and repair of the amusement facilities. Must have the ability to understand and follow written departmental policies and guidelines; plan and participate in routine maintenance; operate and supervise carousel, train, and amusement facilities and to account for revenues; and establish and maintain effective working relationship. Special requirements: Must participate in specialized training to operate the carousel and train. Possession of CPR and First Aid certifications upon hire. Valid NC driver’s license required.
