Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Central Amusement International Inc. (CAI) is an amusement park development and management company located in New York City. Job Summary:
We're seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our Headquarters Maintenance Team (located in Boonton, NJ) and play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rides and attractions. You will perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, upholding the quality and safety of our rides and attractions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain, erect, troubleshoot, and repair electro-mechanical machinery: Ensure smooth operation through "hands-on" work, utilizing a CMMS system for recordkeeping.
- Conduct visual and auditory inspections: Regularly assess equipment and maintain compliance with manufacturer specifications and CAI Maintenance Standards.
- Manage spare parts inventory: Proactively identify and request essential materials to maintain safety and prevent downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues: Collaborate with others to diagnose and address ride problems promptly.
- Coordinate maintenance and inspection procedures: Ensure efficient and effective upkeep of all equipment.
- Perform a variety of other tasks related to the maintenance and operation of mechanical equipment, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to set up and dismantle rides and a variety of equipment and contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying and proposing solutions to maintenance challenges.
Requirements
- 2-year experience (preferred): Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical/electro-mechanical systems, heavy equipment, or industrial machinery.
- High school diploma or GED (required): Trade school certification a plus.
- Instrumentation and measurement skills: Proficient in using calipers, micrometers, and similar tools, in imperial and metric systems.
- Schematics and drawings comprehension (preferred): Ability to understand pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical diagrams.
- Industrial equipment certification (preferred): Experience with forklifts, telescopic lifts, and telehandlers a plus.
- Strong work ethic and safety consciousness: Commitment to safety protocols and high-quality work.
- Additional skills (preferred): Welding and machining,
- Teamwork, continuous improvement, process focus, accuracy, integrity, accountability, positive attitude.
- Valid driver's license (required): Ability to operate company vehicles, forklifts, man lifts, and Lulls.
- Travel flexibility: Occasional travel necessary for work. Must be able to drive to Luna Park in Coney Island (Brooklyn, NY), Friedsam Memorial Carousel in Central Park (Manhattan) and other company locations on occasion, or possibly extended periods during special projects or startup of season. Reimbursement if a private vehicle is used.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
- While the typical workweek is Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, the seasonal nature of our business requires flexibility. You must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays (during peak season) with the possibility of early mornings and late evenings.
