Anesthesia Technician jobs in Gainesville, FL
Anesthesia Technician assists Anesthesiologist by setting-up equipment and preparing medications. Orders, stocks, tests, and maintains anesthesia supplies, medications, and equipment. Being an Anesthesia Technician washes and sterilizes re-usable equipment and reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel. Performs safety checks on anesthesia equipment and assists the Anesthesiologist as needed. Additionally, Anesthesia Technician may also be required to complete Anesthesia Technician trainee program. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Anesthesia Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be an Anesthesia Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

The role you’ll contribute:
To provide anesthesia assistance within the Cardiovascular Operating Room.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Communicates with other interdisciplinary team members to deliver patient care including delegating to unlicensed assistive personnel.
- Demonstrates ability to assess and recognize changes in a patient status and to provide appropriate interventions under the direct supervision of an Anesthesia Provider.
- Maintains complete and timely records of machine checks, supplies and equipment.
- Carries out selected acts including administering of medications and treatments under the direction of a CRNA/Anesthesiologist.
- Monitors and reports variances in standards of practice utilizing the chain of command in a timely manner.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Must have completed an RN, Paramedic, or LPN program from an accredited school.
- 1 yr Clinical Experience in their respective field.
- Current FL RN, Paramedic or LPN License; current BLS, and ACLS
- IV Certification
