The Dog Spa of St. Peters is looking for a responsible and reliable person to fill a part-time (potentially

leading to full time) 'Groom Tech/Bather-Brusher' position! A great step further into the world of pet- related careers!

Must have an interest in the health and well-being of animals and prior experience is preferred. We accept those with experience ranging from bathing and brushing your pet(s) at home to lots of brushing and outline trimming experience. Must have experience in breed-specific outline trimming. Regardless of your experience level, a couple weeks of operational walkthrough/training will be included.

Qualifications include:

• Ability to pass both a background check and drug test.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended amounts of time.
• Ability to walk dogs safely on leashes.
• Ability to safely cage dogs.
• Comfortable working around wet dogs, dog hair, and dander.
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs on a regular basis, and up to 50lbs occasionally.
• Ability to work with a team.
• A clean-as-you-go attitude is a plus.
• Ability to interact with customers, operate a cordless phone, and work a POS system (we use Square).
• Ability to assist customers with onboarding forms and to keep customer files organized and updated.
• A passion for animals, and experience required.

Responsibilities include:

• Use of best practices and/or vet's orders to ensure the skin/coat of each canine customer is kept clean and healthy.
• Checking customers in and out, including crate prep.
• Bathe, brush teeth, external anal expression, dry, brush, and trim dogs as assigned/required.
• ***The ability to clip nails, clean paw pads, clean ears, and provide minor trimming/touch-ups will be qualitatively verified.
• Maintaining a calm demeanor to reduce the dogs' stress levels and provide a positive overall grooming experience.
• Washing and drying towels and other textiles used.
• Keeping a positive demeanor, especially when interacting with customers both over the phone and in person.
• Walking customers through onboarding forms and keeping customer files organized/updated.
• General cleanup duties including sweeping/vacuuming, tub cleanout, and mopping floors.
• General restocking/daily prep duties such as conditioner/shampoo refills, treat restock, and file copies.
• Other general duties as assigned.

Work schedule:

Business hours are currently from 8:30am-3pm Tuesday-Saturday and working schedules surrounding those hours will depend on anticipated volume. Flexible schedule. Performance bonuses are another benefit.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 per hour
