Determines and evaluates their applications to scientific study. Being an Animal Scientist requires a degree in animal science. May be expected to have an advanced degree in area of specialty with 0-2 years of experience. Additionally, Animal Scientist has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Veterinary Receptionist (exotic animal practice)

  • We are a busy exotic animal veterinary practice seeking an enthusiastic people-person to join our team. We are looking for either full-time or part-time, long term receptionist for immediate hire. If you are high energy, upbeat and love talking with people you may be a match for us!

    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
    -Enthusiastic and self-motivated
    -Proactive and extremely organized
    -Fast learner willing to go the extra mile
    -Results oriented
    -Efficient ability to work independently as well as with a team
    -Exotic animal experience a big plus
    -Avimark software experience preferred but not essential

    JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
    -Answering multi-line phone system
    -Scheduling appointments
    -Handling client communication
    -Provide staff support
    -Filing and organizing records and documents
    -Taking patient histories and filling out charts as needed
    -Generating professional letters, estimates, emails and reports
    -Billing out appointments and taking payment
    -Assisting staff with projects and deadlines as needed

    REQUIREMENTS:
    -At least one year of reception experience, preferably handling a multi-line phone system
    -Excellent customer service skills and professional phone etiquette
    -Strong verbal and written communication skills
    -Ability to multi-task with meticulous attention to detail
    -Veterinary or medical experience as a receptionist and/or technician preferred but not required
