Animal Technician provides daily care for research animals of various species. Cleans and disinfects cages and equipment. Being an Animal Technician monitors the health and well being of the animals, maintains logs of animal diet, behavior, vital signs and other data. Follows standard operating procedures and all biosafety and animal welfare regulations. Additionally, Animal Technician may perform procedures to collect samples. May transport animals to and from laboratories. Requires a high school diploma. May require Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) certification from the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) or other certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Animal Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.     Job Summary

    We are seeking an Animal Caretaker I for our Insourcing Solutions site located in Hamilton, MT .

    As the Animal Caretaker I , you will be working in ABSL 2-3 facility environments to perform a variety of duties, including cleaning, sanitizing, routine preventative maintenance, and repair of caging materials and autoclaves.

    Additional responsibilities include :

    • Maintaining cagewash and animal holding facilities in a clean and organized manner
    • Operating equipment and performing general housekeeping
    • General animal care duties
    • Receipt, stocking, and maintenance of supply orders
    • Preparing and submitting all required written records, charts, logs, and inventories
    • Work actively with customers to address requests, inquiries, and complaints
    • Provide technical assistance

    Job Qualifications

    The following are minimum requirements related to the Animal Caretaker I position :

    • High school diploma / GED
    • ALAT certification, or ability to obtain certification within one year of eligibility
    • Experience and / or training working with mechanical equipment preferred

    The pay for this position is $22.00 USD per hour.
