Animal Technician jobs in Troy, NY

• Care of hospitalized patients ensuring comfort including cage cleaning, exercising, feeding, observation of illness, and keeping animals clean.
• General cleaning of public and employee areas, building and yard maintenance to maintain a clean, odor-free, and attractive environment.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas
• Ability to restrain for procedures performed by technicians or veterinarians, utilizing Low Stress/Fear Free handling methods
• Keep patient medical records up-to-date and accurate
• Sample collection and processing for in-house and reference laboratories
• Knowledge of routine front desk procedures to assist team members

Required skills and qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working in the veterinary or animal care field
• Must be reliable and punctual
• Must be a team player and have compassion for pets and their people
• The ability to handle stressful situations with grace, compassion and professionalism
• Understands different communication styles and modifies their behavior accordingly
• Solutions-based, able to handle conflict respectfully and maintain composure amidst busy and constantly changing circumstances

• Borador Animal Hospital currently consists of 2 Full-Time Veterinarians with 50 years of combined veterinary experience providing top-notch care for our patients,
• 3 Full-time Veterinary Technicians who are eager to implement their extensive veterinary knowledge,
• 2 Veterinary Assistants quickly and effectively tackle many of the day-to-day behind the scenes tasks that keep us rolling efficiently,
• 2 Full-Time Client Service Representatives who are the best of the best, welcoming our clients and their pets into the Borador Family,
• 1 Practice Manager who is supportive and available, and understands the importance of providing a safe and happy working environment, while monitoring the performance of the practice,
