Animal Technician, Sr. provides daily care for research animals of various species. Cleans and disinfects cages and equipment. Being an Animal Technician, Sr. monitors the health and well being of the animals, maintains logs of animal diet, behavior, vital signs and other data. Follows standard operating procedures and all biosafety and animal welfare regulations. Additionally, Animal Technician, Sr. may perform procedures to collect samples. May transport animals to and from laboratories. Requires a high school diploma. May require Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) certification from the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) or other certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Animal Technician, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Adana Veterinary Clinic is seeking a full-time (30 to 38 hours/week) Veterinary Technician Assistant. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 full year of recent experience in a veterinary hospital or clinic.     Skills and Expectations: Great handling skills and a practical approach to veterinary medicine is a requirement. You will assist the LVT and the doctors in their daily work, perform patient intakes for exams, provide gentle and safe animal restraint as needed for exams, treatments, and blood draws, for patients of all sizes. Computer/medical data entry including transcribing information from the client and doctor into the medical record is part of the job. You must have good communication skills and be able to relay information to owners about their pets and their care. You will also help dispense medications, run patient lab samples, answer phones, and provide excellent customer care. A cheerful attitude, attention to detail, and organizational skills are highly valued. Knowledge of medical terminology and preventative care is a plus! A minimum typing speed of 55-60 WPM is required. Additional responsibilities include performing light, daily cleaning and disinfection of our exam areas, recovery cages, and caring for any hospitalized patients and for the cats in our boarding area. Some flexibility to assist on weekends and/or holidays for brief cat boarding shifts is desirable.


    Compensation: $18-$20; pay is commensurate with experience. Additionally, you will be eligible for our revenue share bonus program.
