Under the general supervision of the Senior Director of University Relations, the Director of Annual Giving will provide strategic leadership for the central annual giving operations, creating and implementing a road map to sustain and grow annual philanthropic support for all academic colleges, units, and athletics.
The incumbent will oversee the design and implementation of fundraising programs that broaden and sustain the base of annual philanthropic gift support by establishing a seamlessly integrated relationship-based pipeline of CSULB alumni, LBSU Athletics fans, parents and friends. The incumbent will also collaborate across UR&D and campus to identify college, division, and coach funding priorities and will execute a fundraising plan that amplifies those priorities during giving days and other retention and acquisition-focused annual giving initiatives.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface professionally with coaches, alumni, parents, friends, administrators, faculty, staff, and students. Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, and ability to manage multiple projects. Exceptional writing and communication skills. Ability to craft, execute, and articulate vision, as well as ability to delegate as needed. Knowledge of fundraising best practices. Communicate professionally with all university constituents they interact with on a daily basis. Knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially MS Word and MS Excel preferable. Knowledge of Ellucian's Advance Web CRM database software preferable. Knowledge of Constant Contact email system preferable.

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and a minimum of five years of related professional experience required, with a preference in higher education.
Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).
Valid California Driver's License required.

Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $6,589 - $7,084 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU MPP Compensation Summary Range: The MPP Comp Summary Range for this position is $6,589 - $9,884 per month.
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
