    Responsible for assigned development activities for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at West Virginia University with a focus on managing and coordinating the annual giving and ticket priority programs for the Mountaineer Athletic Club.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Manage and coordinate the annual giving, ticket priority, premium seating program for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics  by  developing  plans  and  programs   to maximize revenues.

    Coordinate, in conjunction with the Mountaineer Ticket Office, the ticket priority program for football, men's basketball, postseason games and other athletic events, as assigned.

    Coordinate direct mail solicitations for annual giving and premium seating, including developing the mailing lists using WVU Foundation or Department of Intercollegiate Athletics information, and directing interaction with the Sports Communications Office, mail vendors, and the United State Postal Service.

    Manage assigned staff to reach targeted goals, and track and report on progress to complete specific goals and projects.

    Manage the Wheels Club program in conjunction with the Athletics Department Business Office.  Solicit participation in Wheels Club program and coordinate stewardship of participating dealerships.

    Develop and implement an annual action plan to fulfill all quantifiable work performance goals for contacts, solicitations, closed gifts and new prospects identified.

    Oversee data integrity, tracking process and donor information in Paciolan for all annual donations, donor levels, priority points, donor statements, pledges and renewals.

    Solicit annual gifts as assigned and ticket priority gifts at the midpoint Mountaineer Athletic Club level or higher.

    Maintain a comprehensive   working knowledge   of the WVU intercollegiate   athletic program assuring effective representation of all aspects of the program and needs for private support.

    Plan, execute, and/or staff prospect cultivation, hospitality, donor stewardship and recognition programs, and other special events as assigned, including, but not limited to, programs held concurrently with athletic contests at WVU or opponent venues, the Coaches' Caravan, sport specific club events, etc.

    Coordinate, with appropriate staff from Sports Communications Office, the production of athletic development publications, printed material, and other media content, including web materials and social media.

    Develop and execute plans for volunteers to assist the athletic development program, including organizing and conducting prospect rating sessions, in conjunction with appropriate WVU Foundation staff, recruiting and training of volunteer leaders, student workers, and conduct other cultivation activities and programs as needed.

    Initiate and facilitate collegial and cooperative relationships and open communications with other WVU Foundation and University personnel in advancing the   mission, philosophy, and objectives of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

    Develop specific working knowledge of relevant Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and WVU   Foundation   computer systems   necessary   in completion   of day-to-day business.  As directed and needed, create or assemble documents or reports for either internal or external uses in advancing or evaluating Athletic development.

    Coordinate all development efforts with the WVU Foundation and comply with all WVU Foundation reporting and accountability standards.

    Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

    Maintain knowledge of and comply with all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines of WVU Foundation Inc., West Virginia University, the Big 12 Conference and the NCAA. Must adhere to NCAA Bylaw 11.1 - Conduct of Athletic Personnel. Failure to adhere to these policies will result in appropriate disciplinary action including possible suspension and termination.

    Represent the WVU Foundation, the University, and Intercollegiate Athletics with the highest professional level of, integrity, strength of character, and ethics.   Must respect the rights and dignity of individuals with sensitivity to problems that may arise from racial and ethnic differences.

    Manage sensitive and confidential information related to donors, ticket holders, student­ athletes, coaches and staff utilizing discretion and correct decisions.  Failure to use proper discretion at the required level could result in major and significant embarrassment to the University and/or have a significant impact on image, revenues and eligibility of student-athletes.

    Faithfully and diligently execute related duties  of  the  Department  of  Intercollegiate Athletics,  as  requested  or  assigned  by  the Senior Associate Athletics Director/ Executive  Director  of  the  Mountaineer Athletic Club.

    A bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted for a Master's degree. Minimum of four years of progressive development experience. Experience with intercollegiate athletics, particularly Division I experience preferred. Direct experience working with and managing annual giving programs and donors preferred. Must have knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    Mathematical Skills

    Reasoning Ability

    Computer Skills                                               

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be Microsoft Office proficient. Familiarity with databases such as Blackbaud and Paciolan is preferred.
