Annual Gift Director - Healthcare plans and implements the healthcare organization's campaign for monetary aid in annual gifts from corporations, outside agencies, and other donors. Assigns specific charitable donation campaigns to Annual Gift Coordinators. Being an Annual Gift Director - Healthcare is responsible for attracting and retaining prospective donors, monitoring programs, and analyzing past donations.   • The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking an individual to join its development team as the Director of Development of the Annual Campaign.
    Job Description

    This position will lead our annual fundraising efforts, develop relationships with donors, and secure annual donations from individuals and local organizations in support of the YMCA and its key programs. This includes working with 15 YMCA branches, advisory boards, and campaign volunteers on their Annual Campaign fundraising strategies, ensuring association-wide goals are met. This position works out of the Association Office in Conshohocken, Pa, and consistently schedules visits to GPY branches throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to develop meaningful relationships with donors, key staff, and volunteers to engage them in the mission of the YMCA.
    • Dependable, positive, and creative individual who can handle a variety of projects.
    • Requires exceptional written and oral presentation skills in order to assist with gaining commitment, representing the YMCA to foundations, and communicating with colleagues. Must understand development budgeting, researching, writing, and be able to devise reports and letters.
    • Ability to inspire and make impactful presentations to groups.
    • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Experience using fundraising software is preferred.
    • CRM and campaign management experience. Work closely with CRM managers and IT to make sure processes and procedures around the annual campaign are streamlined.
    • Knowledge and experience with social media and web-giving portals.
    • Listens carefully and attentively to and understands donor and customer needs, both internally and externally, and proactively responds to those needs consistently and promptly.
    • Maintains a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
    • Ability to prepare and administer budgets for assigned program areas.
    • Provides direction and motivation to others through communication, modeling appropriate behavior, optimism, and high achievement.
    • Works independently and within a team environment.
    Essential Functions
    • Implements strategies within the Association to ensure healthy growth for the Annual Campaign. Lead annual campaign planning and timeline including prospect development and solicitation initiatives. Other key activities include:
      • Stewardship: Focus on donor retention, community involvement, and giving clubs. Ensures there is a stewardship plan for gifts above $1,500.
      • Prospecting: Focus on key indicators to promote strategic growth for major gifts through prospecting and wealth screening.
      • Lead the various sub-campaigns of the Annual Campaign, such as Staff Giving, Advisory Board Giving, Sponsorship donors, and branch major gifts.
      • Training: Design and implement annual training to engage volunteer and staff leadership.
    • Work with Branch Executive Directors in their relationships within each YMCA community to enhance support at the branch level. Work closely with each branch to develop their top 20 annual campaign donors and lead prospects as part of the process. Works with branches to create a volunteer base of supporters to drive the annual giving program.
    • Develop a structured Annual Campaign plan across the Association to ensure branch growth (increasing renewal and upgrade rate). Make sure everyone has a plan and strategy to succeed and a way to track progress. This includes:
      • A plan for all sponsorship levels such as $1,500 entry-level recognition, small business spotlights, Lunch and Learn sponsorship, local programmatic event sponsorship, and association-wide event sponsorships such as Healthy Kids Day.
      • Bi-weekly meetings with all YMCA Executive Directors to review, update, and strategize fundraising status.
    • Donor Data Management. Analyze annual giving data to provide recommendations and strategy for the following year’s plan:
      • Retention rate of donors by locations .
      • Conversion rate of Annual Campaign Donor to Major Gift or Transformational Gift Donor
      • Works in collaboration with the Development Department in the enhancement of donor data and analysis reports in CRM (Salesforce).
      • Analyzing and improving Annual Campaign pledge collection rate.
    • Works closely with the Marketing Department staff and vendors to support the development of:
      • Printed materials
      • Videos
      • Website information
      • Community public relations and partnerships with sponsors
      • Donor stories for the E-Newsletter.
      • Stewardship events at branches.
      • Social media postings around philanthropic-related events.
    • Other responsibilities including assisting the Vice President of Development and senior leadership with:
      • Conducting screening visits of selected potential prospects.
      • Supporting Comprehensive Campaign through cultivation and stewardship.
      • Developing his/her own top 20 prospects to manage.
      • Supporting the Association by participating in Association-wide events.
