Annual Gift Director - Healthcare plans and implements the healthcare organization's campaign for monetary aid in annual gifts from corporations, outside agencies, and other donors. Assigns specific charitable donation campaigns to Annual Gift Coordinators. Being an Annual Gift Director - Healthcare is responsible for attracting and retaining prospective donors, monitoring programs, and analyzing past donations. Oversees annual giving revenue and expense goals and evaluates the effectiveness of a variety of solicitation programs. Additionally, Annual Gift Director - Healthcare requires a bachelor's degree.   • POSITION SUMMARY:

    Under the direction of the Chief Operations Officer, the Director of Annual Giving will assist in the implementation of the Association’s strategic developmental goals and provide leadership to the YMCA Annual Support Campaign, assist with key Association special events and Annual Fund communications.

    In addition, every position in the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc is responsible for upholding the Judeo-Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character - caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Annual Giving:

    The Director of Annual Giving will formulate strategies and execute the following Annual Giving Campaign activities, in concert with Y branch directors, association staff, and Y volunteers:

    • Develops and executes an Annual Giving Campaign Master Calendar of year-long fundraising activities for the association
    • Facilitates annual training events for branch directors, association staff, and Y volunteers
    • With the support of the COO, assists with establishing AGC goals for each of the branches
    • With the support of the COO, secures AGC volunteer leadership for the Corporate Board and each branch Board or Managers
    • With the support of the COO, develops annual Case Statements for each of the Y branches
    • With support from the COO, leads and facilitates monthly meetings with the Y branch directors, and provides benchmark performance reports for accountability
    • Develops a Major Gifts/Multi-Year strategy to be implemented with branch directors, association staff, and Y volunteers Coordinates
    • Personally, cultivates and manages a portfolio of Major Gift level donors, securing their gifts each year and generates new gifts
    • Directs and manages3-4 annual association-wide Direct Mail activities
    • With the support of the COO, develops strategies for the Annual Day of Giving
    • Submits AG applications and reports for corporate partners and Foundations
    • Manages Peer to Peer, Online and Text to Give programming
    • Create materials for AGC initiatives to include, but not restricted to, digital and print collateral, e-blasts, banners, posters, flyers, brochures, newsletters, website, social media, and other print, online, and creative materials
    • Establishes a schedule of reports and continuously monitors progress to ensure AGC growth benchmarks and goals are achieved
    • Oversees systems for timely and appropriate acknowledgements of AGC gifts, prospect correspondence and donor stewardship
    • Assists with the identification and cultivation of potential major donors and branch board members

    Development Communications

    • Designs proactive media (print and digital) to stimulate donor and community interest, build brand awareness around philanthropy and convey key messages
    • Coordinates with the Director of Communications and Marketing and the local branches for the preparation of news releases and press coverage related to the YMCA philanthropic successes

    Event Management

    • YMCA Critz Tybee Run Fest-serves a key member of the event management team, assisting with securing sponsorships and sponsor recognition
    • Provide guidance to branches on fundraising specific special event planning and execution

    Position Requirements & Qualifications

    • A bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or marketing and five (5) years of previous fundraising experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • A demonstrated understanding of the YMCA Annual Campaign preferred
    • Strong abilities in consensus building
    • Superior oral/written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and strong presentation skills required
    • Must be a proactive and creative problem-solver, must be able to work both independently and with a broad range of internal and external partners to develop relationships, facilitate collaboration and achieve results
    • Demonstrated understanding of fundraising best practices in annual giving, special events and working with volunteers
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), and donor/constituent management databases
    • Experience establishing and cultivating strong relationships with staff and ability to use good judgement, take initiative and make recommendations
    • Must demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills, with outstanding attention to detail and ability to uphold deadlines.
    • Proven ability to be an innovative, creative, productive, and self-directed team player who works in a fast- paced environment and meets deadlines
    • In-depth knowledge and effective use of major social media platforms, and donor/constituent management databases, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
