Gift Management Coordinator- Year Round, Hourly Non-Exempt Position
The Hurricane Island Center for Science and Leadership (Hurricane Island) is a transformative learning
community on Hurricane Island in Penobscot Bay, Maine. Our mission is to integrate science education,
applied research, and leadership development through year-round educational programs and a seasonal,
environmentally-sustainable island community. Through experiential education programs and research
opportunities in STEM disciplines we aim to inspire people about science and about being leaders in the next
wave of scientific discovery and environmental conservation.
Position Description
Join a growing and innovative Advancement team at Hurricane Island Center for Science and Leadership. The
Gift Management Coordinator is central to the day-to-day operations of the organization and helps Hurricane
Island maintain our collaborative and intentional community. A successful candidate must be well-organized,
flexible, reliable, and able to function in a dynamic working environment. Additional responsibilities to what is
described here may be required, as needed. The Gift Management Coordinator reports directly to the Director
of Advancement and is responsible for maintaining Hurricane Island’s donor database and other donor
information systems. The Gift Management Coordinator works collaboratively in a support role ensuring the
primary functions of the Advancement Office and represents the organization with a donor-centered and
relationship-building approach while protecting the confidentiality of all donor information. This position assists
with events and donor stewardship (both on and off-island), and provides year-round in- person office support.
Travel to Hurricane Island and occasional week-end hours are expected. The position is a full-time year-round
position with benefits.
Job Responsibilities
Compensation - HOURLY NON-EXEMPT $17 - $22/hr
This is a year round position with benefits. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes paid
