    Job Description

    As the Assistant Athletic Director for Development, Annual Fund you will operate in a high-volume donor engagement environment and assist in the overall direction and leadership for the annual fund efforts of the athletic development team. You will also cultivate, solicit, and steward donors in the leadership annual giving band ($10,000 - $25,000), manage a caseload of 200 athletic prospects and donors, oversee annual fund officers, and drive strategy for the annual fundraising program. As the Assistant AD, you will provide leadership on the athletic development team and assist with the strategies for maximizing revenue.

    In this role, you will:

    • Lead all aspects of the annual giving program for Athletics including managing annual giving staff.
    • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors with a focus on prospects/donors capable of making leadership annual gifts.
    • Liaise and maintain a strong relationship with the Taymar Annual Fund leadership and team members, leading and participating in weekly collaborative meetings and joint strategies for annual fund coverage and growth.
    • Participate in the strategic planning for the athletic annual fund team. Works with the Senior Associate Athletics Director as well as other athletics leadership team members to identify fundraising needs and help establish goals.
    • Be responsible for career growth, professional development, and mentorship for assigned staff.
    • Utilize priority points and transactional giving to help move individualized giving donors into the major gift donor continuum.
    • Collaborate with senior Foundation and Athletics leadership to generate new opportunities for athletic donor acquisition.
    • Approve and oversee selected special event fundraising for athletics or individual sports, while working in collaboration with alumni relations.
    • Plan and implement strategies and programs for achieving established fundraising objectives and goals in accordance with university and athletics priorities and policies.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Demonstrate the ability to manage, train, motivate, and coach staff members towards individual and team success.
    • Have the ability to work to the demands of the position, which may exceed a 40-hour work week.
    • Be willing to travel extensively and reliable personal transportation is required for this position.
    • Possess a valid driver’s license issued from state in which employee resides. Employee must maintain at their expense, automobile liability insurance coverage in the minimum amount of $500,000 or a combination of umbrella and automobile liability insurance coverage of $500,000. A certificate of automobile insurance evidencing the limit, must be provided to the Foundation at hire and annually thereafter.

    • Bachelor's degree, advanced degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 5 years of experience as a development professional with proven success in solicitation and stewardship of annual fund donors,
    • Previous supervisory experience.
    • Knowledge and understanding of priority point systems and concepts and their application as it relates to seating for donors and ticket holders at athletics events.
    • Knowledge and understanding of a Division I athletics and NCAA rules and regulations.
    • Competence in Microsoft Office suite and donor management systems.

    Salary:

    The expected salary for this position is $100,000 . It will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also placing an emphasis on internal equity.
