    Job Description

    Nevada State University (NS) invites applications for the position of Director of Annual Giving. The Director of Annual Giving will proactively administer the long and short-term strategies for annual giving, defined as gifts in the amount of less than $25,000. The position will oversee a variety of campaigns and will solicit constituents by personal appeal as well as other methods of solicitation. The position will focus on acquisition of new donors, renewal and upgrade of current donors and, working with the Director Stewardship and Community Relations, to thank and steward donors. The Director will provide oversight to all annual giving events and programs, including but not limited to, giving days, faculty and staff campaigns, targeted program fundraising and giving programs. The position will also include a portfolio of prospects for annual personal solicitation. The position will be tasked with introducing the community to Nevada State, through attendance at networking events, community organization meetings, etc. and will be expected to be off campus promoting the university every week. In addition, the Director builds strong relationships across campus to develop, assess, message and document meaningful annual giving donor opportunities that will strengthen the major donor pipeline. The position will work with the VP-Advancement to set metrics and benchmarks, develop best practices, policies and procedures for annual giving for the campus, and identify new sources of revenue for the university. The Director will also be tasked with identifying and executing new methods of annual giving solicitation for the university, maintain relationships with annual giving partners, and social media campaigns. The Director will perform several tasks within our Raiser's Edge database, including but not limited to segmenting data into lists, exporting data, maintaining data integrity, building reports, and tracking engagement. Reporting to the VP-Advancement, the Director will work with the Advancement team to create and administer all aspects of annual giving for the university. The position will attend campus events and to work closely with both the Development and Alumni Department as well as the Marketing and Events department to best fulfill the role.

    Core Responsibilities:
    • Identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of annual giving donors through a variety of mediums, such has personal solicitation, e-solicitation, direct mail, social media, etc.
    • Attend community events and activities to introduce the university to the community.
    • Create and execute annual giving fundraising campaigns for the university.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree required.
    • At least one year of fundraising, sales or comparable experience.
    • Other required qualifications.
    • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (NS does not sponsor employment-related visas).

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Higher education fundraising experience preferred.

    Salary & Benefits

    Budgeted salary for this position is $70,000. Nevada State University offers excellent benefits, including 17.50% retirement match, 24 annual leave days, beginning balance of 30 sick leave days, 12 paid holidays, educational benefits, and three health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts.
