  • SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Superintendent, the Adult Education Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the adult education program, ensuring its effective operation and meeting the educational needs of adult learners in the community. This position requires leadership in administration, data-driven program development, staff supervision, curriculum and instruction, school finance and budget, student support and community relations. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree Required. Master’s Degree preferred ME DOE Certification 066 (Director of Adult and Community Education) or eligible to apply Three years of satisfactory instructional experience in the field of Adult Education Understanding of the unique and often culturally diverse needs of adult learners Effective administrative and management skills with the ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to foster a positive school climate Knowledge of differentiation of instruction, standards-based curriculum development, assessment practices and staff development Familiar with instructional supervision and evaluation through experience or course work Experience with budget development Excellent written, oral and listening skills, including the effective utilization of technology and information management tools Ability to effectively articulate the successes and needs of the program to central administration, School Board, staff, students and the general public.
