    Primary Purpose
    The Associate Director of Annual Giving is responsible for qualifying, soliciting, managing, and stewarding leadership annual giving prospects to impact the fundraising goals of the University of the Pacific. The Associate Director will play a key role in growing leadership annual giving donor prospects, creating and managing annual giving program and societies, and developing a strong and consistent donor pipeline to identify and grow the major gift prospects pool.
    Essential Functions
    • Identifies, qualifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards a portfolio of 200-250 prospects, including alumni, parents, and friends of the university, capable of making annual gifts at the Leadership Annual Gift level ($1,000-$24,999).
    • Creates, manages, and executes the implementation of special annual giving programs/societies.
    • Participates in discovery work to uncover new leadership annual donors, ensure long-term engagement of existing leadership annual donors, and qualify major gift donor prospects to expand pipeline development.
    • Collaborates with university-wide annual giving teams to add new value and build upon the success of mail, email, text, and digital solicitation campaigns.
    • Coordinates with major gift officers to successfully hand-off qualified prospects and donors above the Leadership Annual Giving level.
    • Evaluates, builds, and assesses full Leadership Annual Giving program to maximize revenue potential.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree.
    • Three (3) years of fundraising or relevant experience.
    • Two (2) years experience working directly with data, data analysis, and/or database software to evaluate key performance indicators and assess outcomes.
    • Two (2) years experience utilizing project management practices to oversee multiple projects and timelines.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Master's degree.
    • Five (5) years fundraising experience in annual giving or donor relations.
    • Direct experience managing a portfolio of prospects to either qualify, solicit, or steward.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and outstanding organization and time-management skills.
    • Experience in successfully soliciting gifts from $1,000 - $24,999.
    • Knowledge of fundraising principles and proven success in developing leadership annual giving strategies, especially within an educational organization.
    • Experience developing, executing, and managing leadership annual giving programs and societies.
    • A commitment to higher education, understanding of university academics and scholarship and ability to articulate a compelling case for annual discretionary support.
    • Demonstrated interest in personal solicitation of leadership annual gifts.
    • Experience writing donor correspondence, solicitations, and stewardship communications.
    • Ability to develop and monitor budgets and schedules.
    • Intermediate experience using computer software programs, including MS Office Suite and CRM database programs.
    • Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.
    • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
    • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
    • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

    Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
    Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment with use of computer and phone. Work scheduled during standard business hours. Evenings and weekends are required periodically to accommodate business needs. Occasional travel both local and overnight.

    Valid driver's license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University's fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.
