Under close supervision, Software Development Specialist 1 will be responsible for supporting the development of the web-enabled New Jersey Immunization Information (NJIIS). The position will test code and unit software components as well as prepare test data for unit and also integrate testing for child lead data. This resource will prepare flowcharts, block diagrams, and code program modules of the least complexity for applicant systems development.
This position will represent the Office of Health Information Technology (HIT) in the area of application development. Will attend meetings with potential and current clients, user group meetings, professional seminars, training sessions, vendor meetings, etc., as required. The Software Development Specialist 1 will research, learn, and utilize Esri’s ArcGIS (geographic information systems) mapping software, the Master Patient Index (MPI), as well as develop and maintain programs for NJIIS.
This position will both maintain existing software applications and support new development efforts using the above-noted technologies. Furthermore, the ideal candidate for the position will be a collaborative team player who has proficient verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce a quality work product with minimal supervision
This position may be eligible to participate in the Department's pilot telework program, which offers eligible employees the opportunity to work remotely for up to two (2) days per week, as approved by management.
