    Job Summary
    Reporting to the Director of Academic Talent Search (ATS) Sonoma and Mendocino County and Upward Bound Math/Science Programs, the ATS Programs Analyst and Student Retention Specialist performs varied administrative, technical and analytical duties of a responsible and difficult nature requiring independence, judgment, and the application of a comprehensive knowledge of a variety of policies and procedures related to program policy, research and evaluation, curriculum development, and operational analysis in support of Academic Talent Search with an emphasis on pre-college advising strategies and student retention. The incumbent must have the ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. The incumbent contributes to the development, alteration, implementation, and evaluation of program policies and procedures according to US Department of Education grant objectives. The incumbent often provides project leadership and represents the ATS Programs as program administrator on key projects between students, guardians, school-site administrators, public partners, and staff. Contacts involve interaction with all levels inside and outside the university, and may include dealing with sensitive and confidential information.

    Key Qualifications
    This position requires a bachelor's degree and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs, plus two years of related experience. Thorough working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) required. Ability to use a broad range of technology and systems for the capture, maintenance and reporting of key data required. Working knowledge of budget policies, procedures, fiscal analysis and techniques in a higher education setting preferred. Working knowledge of basic statistical techniques and data analysis methodologies in a higher education setting preferred. Ability to maintain website content through the use of Dreamweaver, Drupal, or similar Web Editing software preferred. Working knowledge of database programs, and familiarity with secure file transfer methods preferred. Knowledge of Google Suite, Drupal (content management system for the websites), and PeopleSoft preferred.

    Salary and Benefits
    Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $3,897 to $4,671 a month. This is a full time, temporary, exempt position. Reappointment to this position is dependent upon the individual's performance as well as administrative and budgetary considerations. The university reserves the right to terminate this appointment earlier than the scheduled expiration date.

    This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.
