Annuities Supervisor (New Business) supervises a group of Annuities Representatives responsible for handling the needs of new applicants. Ensures compliance with all regulations and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations which pertain to annuities applications. Being an Annuities Supervisor (New Business) is responsible for handling the more complicated client service issues such as contract exceptions or complaints referred by staff. May be responsible for developing or improving annuities application processes in order to facilitate the acquisition of new business. Additionally, Annuities Supervisor (New Business) requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Annuities Supervisor (New Business) supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Annuities Supervisor (New Business) typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Our Commercial Banking Team is expandingbecause of continued growth across the company and we are excited to develop the next generation of Bankers. Based out of our Madison headquarters location, this is a perfect role for someone looking to take the next step in portfolio management by utilizing their credit skills and training under our seasoned Bankers.

    Over time, increased business development responsibilities will be expected including joint calling with team members and working towards independence in prospecting new relationships for the Bank and building external relationships with COIs, community and networking organizations.

    Work Model: Onsite at our Madison, WI headquarters

    Portfolio Management & Client management

    • Provide a high degree of personal service to an assigned portfolio of clients and serve as co-relationship manager with the Commercial Banker handling client requests quickly and according to bank policy.
    • Provide on-going support and monitoring of the credit portfolio for annual reviews, past due loan payments, covenant compliance, and collateral.
    • Attend loan committee meetings and be prepared to answer questions, working in partnership with the Commercial Bankers as the loan presentation is given.
    • Responsible for directly managing a portfolio of clients as the primary assigned Commercial Banker
    • Complete timely renewals and adverse client event (ACE) memos within existing portfolio in conjunction with credit analysts, client relationship specialist, and treasury management teams.
    • Ability to lead discussions with approver or loan committee.

    Business Development

    • Joint calling with other members of the Commercial Banking team
    • Identification and creation of prospect list / COI list
    • Build confidence and become more actively engaged in in-person or virtual meetings with clients, prospects, and COI's as opportunities arise
    • Be active within the Community attending events and networking opportunities --- building towards finding an organization where you may take on a board or committee leadership role

    Skill Development (Ongoing)

    • Build confidence, and increase activity, in external networking, outreach to COIs, etc. attending events, getting introductions, having 1-1 meetings, etc.
    • Grow sales acumen by participating in the "Selling First Business Bank" internal training session, attending Sales Summit events, in-market Sales Meetings, and other sales training opportunities as appropriate.
    • In partnership with other members of the team, experience exposure to the full deal life cycle to gain a better understanding of each step in the process, building relationships along with way with key internal teams.
    • Deepen understanding of all First Business Bank offered products and services, to include commercial banking and treasury, private wealth management, specialized lending, etc. Build relationships with key individuals within each area to help in future internal referral networks.
    • Identify external professional development opportunities, such as the WBA Commercial Lending School / Sales Development, to attend throughout the year.

    Requirements:

    • Desire to pursue a career as a Commercial Banker
    • Completed post-secondary degree with a focus in Finance or similar field of study
    • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to ascertain and respond to customer needs and objectives to advance the client relationship and meet the Bank's objectives
    • Strong technology skills and an ability to pick up on new systems quickly
    • Credit analysis experience preferred
