Annuities Supervisor (New Business) supervises a group of Annuities Representatives responsible for handling the needs of new applicants. Ensures compliance with all regulations and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations which pertain to annuities applications. Being an Annuities Supervisor (New Business) is responsible for handling the more complicated client service issues such as contract exceptions or complaints referred by staff. May be responsible for developing or improving annuities application processes in order to facilitate the acquisition of new business. Additionally, Annuities Supervisor (New Business) requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Annuities Supervisor (New Business) supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Annuities Supervisor (New Business) typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     JOB SUMMARY:

    Plans, directs, coordinates and oversees all record keeping functions of the District pertaining to the budget, payroll, accounts payable, State reports, State and Federal programs and grants. Oversees purchasing, attendance, personnel, food services, and transportation. Supervises the performance of office clerks and oversees general office procedures. Acts as confidential secretary to the superintendent.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Demonstrated ability to accomplish the major duties and responsibilities listed below.

     

    CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

    • Satisfactory results from fingerprinting and background checks
    • AA/BA Business Degree or several year’s experience in accounting procedures preferred 

     

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform such school-related duties as assigned by the superintendent.
    • Maintain accounting procedures in compliance with all State Regulations for recording and transmitting data as appropriate for General, Debt Service, Capital Projects, ASB, and Transportation Vehicle Funds.
    • Take responsibility for computer input, iGrants, budget, payroll, accounts payable, S-275 personnel reports, contracts, local receipts, month-end closing, journal vouchers.
    • Maintain security and filing system for records as required.
    • Prepare district budget, including preparation of and development of F-203 Revenue Sources, development of financial plan to include all available resources, edits F-195 (budget document) and submittals to OSPI.
    • Provide monthly analysis and status reports for all revenue and expenditures of the District for all funds.
    • Submit budget extensions for all funds as needed. Submit end-of-year fiscal reports.
    • Prepare all required State reports, including those required for personnel, State and federal programs and grants.
    • Account for all cash receipts, deposits and bank balances. Supervise accounts payable.
    • Prepare payroll and maintain payroll records, time reports.
    • Take responsibility for payroll related accounting procedures and reports such as Social Security, Internal Revenue Service, Department of Revenue, Retirement System, Unemployment, Labor & Industries, etc.
    • Serve as District liaison to OSPI and ESD 113 for financial affairs and State reports.
    • Serve as District liaison to County Treasurer to determine monies to be invested or transferred and account balances.
    • Attend Business Manager and Fiscal Officer meetings to maintain current knowledge of requirements of State and data processing procedures.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
    • Supervise and train all office personnel and oversee general office procedures.
    • Prepare correspondence, vacancy announcements, and bulletins.
    • Deal with students, parents, staff, and others in a positive encouraging manner.
    • Communicate effectively with staff, parents, students, volunteers, and patrons both in person and on the telephone.
    • Know and follow district policy and chain of command.
    • Act ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
    • Attends board meetings, takes minutes, types, distributes and maintains files of these minutes.
    • Other duties as assigned.
