May be responsible for developing or improving annuities application processes in order to facilitate the acquisition of new business. The Annuities Supervisor (New Business) supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs.     UCT is looking for a talented Supervisor, Engineering to join us in Scarborough, ME! The Process Engineering Supervisor leads a small team to develop and optimize economical industrial processes to make the huge range of products on which modern society depends. A Process Engineering Supervisor may work in small, medium, and large businesses. The work is concerned with chemical and mechanical processes in which customer materials undergo change and involves scaling up processes from the laboratory into the processing plant. Environmental protection and health and safety aspects are also significant concerns. The ideal candidate must have good people and organizational management skills with demonstrated leadership ability.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manages and maintains a balanced team possessing the necessary flexibility, technical skills and experience to support short- and long-range requirements effectively.
    • Leads and supervises engineering personnel, establishing priorities, schedules projects and duties of Process Engineer and Engineering Tech. Ensures Engineering personnel perform required tasks, as required, on time as well as balances workloads across regions if required.
    • Leads technical customer interface as required.
    • Train Engineers and Technicians to proficiency on assigned tasks.
    • Assigns and ensures timely completion of tasks by direct reports.
    • QGT/UCT Safety, Policy, and Engineering Training.
    • Knowledgeable with Clean room protocols, and advanced Micro contamination knowledge.
    • Leads CAPA, FOI, FMEA investigation and presents to Customers.
    • Recommends new facilities and equipment (or modifications to existing facilities and equipment) as necessary to improve safety, operating capacity, operating effectiveness, or operating costs.
    • Provides technical guidance based off OEM Platform and part knowledge.
    • Semiconductor Process (PVD, Etch, ALD, Diffusion, etc.).
    • Schedules and tracks engineering projects/quotes to ensure timely completion.
    • Liaises with personnel in the customer service function to ensure effective customer engineering support is provided.
    • Directs personnel in product improvement to reduce material costs and manufacturing labor content.
    • Selects, trains, evaluates, and promotes personnel within the engineering tech function.
    • Directs personnel to ensure all equipment and manufacturing operations meet required safety standards.
    • Directs personnel in the provisions of test procedures and fixtures for manufacturing product.
    • Appraises employees’ performance in accordance with established company policies.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • The ideal candidate must have good people and organizational management skills with demonstrated leadership ability.
    • Advanced knowledge in all process workstations.
    • Advanced knowledge of chemistries for films on substrates.
    • Knowledgeable in Clean room protocols, and Micro contamination knowledge.
    • Advanced understanding of semiconductor Process (PVD, Etch, ALD, Diffusion, etc.).

    Educational/Certification Requirement:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
    • Preferred: master’s degree in engineering, lean six sigma green belt or higher.

    Work Experience:

    • 2-4 years related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry.
    • 1-2 years’ experience in people leadership (formal or informal).

    Work Environment:

    Environmental Exposure:

    • Required to wear personal protective equipment where applicable.
    • Subject to noise levels.
