Annuity Services Director directs and oversees all aspects of the annuity customer service program. Provides leadership on the administration of annuity products including distribution, asset transfers, death claim approvals to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Being an Annuity Services Director maintains appropriate staffing to ensure high-level quality service and ensures hired staff has the education necessary and is provided the appropriate training to keep up-to-date on regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Annuity Services Director typically reports to top management. Typically requires passing Series 6 (IR) , 26 (IP), and 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law) qualifying exams. The Annuity Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Basic Function: Provide a broad range of service, sales, marketing, technical and operational support to Lincoln’s Financial Representative regarding annuity products including variable annuities, fixed annuities, and equity indexed annuities. Travel required approximately 20% of the time.

    Responsibilities:

    Training and education
    • Respond to inquiries from financial professionals on specific annuity related questions
    • Create educational training programs regarding annuity products and deliver them to the field in person and or virtually.
    • Assist financial representatives, for special cases, in determining solutions to clients' specific needs
    Relationship Management
    • Manage and grow annuity carrier relationships at the Key Account level and support local level relationships as well.
    • Responsible for annual business planning and strategic partnerships with carriers
    • Tracking and reporting annuity sales on a monthly/quarterly basis
    • Support operational workflows with carriers
    Sales
    • Assist financial professionals with annuity proposals and quotes in a consultative manner
    • Continuously build, maintain, and enhance positive business relationships within financial professionals using annuity products, serving as a resource for sales support
    • Make recommendations, and provide constructive feedback, research, and reports to financial professionals regarding annuity products
    • Present sales ideas and concepts to financial professional in person and virtual; conduct webinars on a regular basis
    Compliance
    • Work with the Compliance department to create systems, policies, and reports to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
    • Consult with financial representatives and designated supervisors regarding suitability issues
    • Assist Lincoln’s compliance department with Designated Supervisor review process on variable annuity sales of $500,000 or more.
    Technology
    • Manage and facilitate Annuity technology tools, systems, and software
    • Train staff and Financial Professionals on tools as needed
    • Provide and manage content to Lincoln's field website as necessary
    • Create and update marketing materials and product content on an as needed basis
    Management/Project Management
    • Responsible for monthly/quarterly sales reports
    • Responsible for getting new products approved and shelf management
    • Participate in departmental and firm wide projects on an as needed basis
    • Proactive platform management, design, and implementation
    Knowledge/Experience Required:
    • Broad knowledge of Annuity products (FA, FIA, RILA, VA) and experience selling them
    • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
    • Experience using Morningstar, Salesforce or other related annuity intelligence tools and CRMs
    • Wholesaling experience is a plus but not required
    • Professional designations, CFP, CIMA, preferred

    Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or equivalent trade off in professional work experience. 3-5 years of Sales, Marketing, or customer service experience in the financial industry. Strong knowledge of Annuity products. Demonstrated Sales & Marketing knowledge of annuities and variable products, and their appropriate applications within the context of a needs-based sales process.

    Registration/Certification:
    FINRA Securities Industry Essentials Examination, Series 6 or 7 and 63 licenses required. Life, Health, and Variable Licenses required. IAR preferred. Industry designations a plus (CPA, CFP, CFA, CIMA, ChFC, CLU, etc.)

    Physical/Other Requirements
    : May sit at workstation for extended periods of time; may view video display screen for extended periods of time also. Periods of fast pace are normal, particularly when working to meet deadlines.
