    8:00am-4:30pm (0800-1630) Monday-Friday

    $5,350.00-7,201.00 per month

     

    The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for a non-permanent Corrections Specialist 2 – Resolution Specialist position at the Stafford Creek Corrections Center located in Aberdeen, WA. 

     

    Resolution Specialists contribute to the agencies mission to improve public safety by positively changing lives and supports our commitment to operate a safe and humane corrections system and partner with others to transform lives for a better Washington. 

     

    To ensure facilitation of this administrative program, this position will report directly to the facility Health Services Manager/designee and will oversee, coordinate, direct, manage and implement all aspects of the Incarcerated Individual Grievance Program for Health Services as mandated by the Resolution Program Manual and DOC Policy, Resolution Program, 500.100. 

     

    This position works closely with administrative and clinical staff which may also include the Headquarters’ Resolution Program Manager to ensure adherence and compliance to the established protocols and procedures of the incarcerated individuals Resolution Program.

    Coordinate duties within the Facilities Grievance Program.

    • Assign Health Services assignments to appropriate staff.
    • Review documents for compliance.
    • Ensure timely interviews are conducted.
    • Ensure that incarcerated individuals are interviewed at least once before a health services resolution is submitted at level III.
    • Provide directions to incarcerated individuals in writing.
    • Correct health services administrative suggested responses.
    • Responsible for conducting thorough investigations with emphasis at the level 0 and level 1.
    • Confirm research, and fact finding is accomplished.
    • Review health services investigative packets to ensure they are complete.
    • Coordinate as necessary between staff, incarcerated individuals, and/or operational issues.

    Conduct research, training, and analysis.

    • Analyze resolution data reviewing trends.
    • Provide appropriate data analysis and trends reporting to health services management on a regular basis including emergent issues as appropriate.

    Facilitate, direct, and implement all aspects of the Statewide Health Services Resolution Program.

    • Implement the program in accordance with DOC’s Resolution Program Manual (RPM), and Policy 550.100 as it relates to health services.
    • Responsible for providing the population and Health Services (HS) Staff with relevant documentation, information, and access to resolution program as it relates to health services.
    • Confirm all resolution documentation submitted is accurate and filed for appropriate processing.
    • Administer appropriate health services resolution documentations and manage timelines at each level of review.
    • Responsible for ensuring that appropriate health services responses are provided at levels 0, I, II, and III.
    • Coordinate the processing of health services incarcerated individuals’ resolutions at all levels, including emergency and PREA complaints, to ensure time requirements are met and work directly with the facility HS Resolution Coordinators.
    • Maintain confidentiality of the program.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Satisfactory completion of two years of college from an accredited college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the US Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)

    AND

    • Four years of expierence in an adult correctional facility performing security and/or counseling and/or casework duties.
    - A bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice or a closely allied field from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of expierence.

    • Must be able to work in spaces, climb stairs, walk long distances, and frequently lift up to 30 pounds. Under rare circumstances this position may be required to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 100 pounds. 
    • Salary is based on experience and is determined at the time a final offer of employment is made. The salary range listed in the job posting includes Steps A-U. Step U is a longevity step and is typically gained six years after being assigned to Step T in your permanent salary range.
