Applications Development Director directs all activities and develops policies and procedures related to the design, analysis, testing, coding, and implementation of applications. Enhances operations by establishing metrics, analyzing processes, and implementing standard methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. Being an Applications Development Director oversees review of development proposals, projects, timelines, resources, and costs. Develops feedback processes for peer reviews, code reviews, and design reviews. Additionally, Applications Development Director establishes a performance culture by incorporating individual and team coaching and mentoring to achieve excellence. May develop and manage outsourcing budgets, vendor relationships, or off-shore resources. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Applications Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Applications Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     The Manager, IT role in the development lane is an experienced leader with proven track record of delivering complex large scale IT projects in fast paced matrix environments. They should demonstrate technical leadership in the design, development and delivery of technology-enabled applications, products and services.
    The primary responsibilities include leading and mentoring a team of managers, developers and analysts with focus on building highly functional teams. They must possess strong Project Management skills along with excellent people management, time management, decision-making, problem solving, presentation, documentation, planning and organization skills.
    They will be required to manage multiple teams and delivery timelines in a highly demanding environment with constantly shifting priorities.
    This Manager position will have responsibility over production clinical systems performance and reliability.
    Responsibilities::
    • Oversee small teams of developers responsible for the overall health, monitoring, major incident, and technical debt of our flagship clinical application.
    • Gain and disseminate deep knowledge of our complex applications.
    • Play a leading role in the planning and execution of ongoing efforts to rapidly grow, support and improve our application.
    • Develop tight relationships with multiple software development partners, ensuring that product needs are met from an operations perspective
    Qualifications::
    • B.S. or higher in Computer Science or other technical discipline, or related practical experience
    • 2 years in a management or leadership position
    • Experience with DevOps and the ability to understand how to avoid downtime in the application, enhance UI/Workflow and create tools to aid in supportability
    • Experience with cloud-based application implementations
    • Experience with Java, Hibernate, and Angular – The ability to quickly troubleshoot emerging issues and work with the team to understand the root cause
