Being an Applications Development Director oversees review of development proposals, projects, timelines, resources, and costs. Develops feedback processes for peer reviews, code reviews, and design reviews. Additionally, Applications Development Director establishes a performance culture by incorporating individual and team coaching and mentoring to achieve excellence. May develop and manage outsourcing budgets, vendor relationships, or off-shore resources. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Applications Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. The Applications Director will be responsible for driving the growth and development of Ultima’s application portfolio. This includes assessing and prioritizing customer and market requirements, working with strategic collaborators, and partnering with internal product development teams to deliver disruptive sequencing applications that capitalize on Ultima’s advantages of scale, economics, and accuracy. The ideal candidate will have an excellent scientific background combined with strong commercial acumen.

At Ultima Genomics, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $175,000 and $215,000, if performed in California, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
