Applications Development Director directs all activities and develops policies and procedures related to the design, analysis, testing, coding, and implementation of applications. Enhances operations by establishing metrics, analyzing processes, and implementing standard methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. Being an Applications Development Director oversees review of development proposals, projects, timelines, resources, and costs. Develops feedback processes for peer reviews, code reviews, and design reviews. Additionally, Applications Development Director establishes a performance culture by incorporating individual and team coaching and mentoring to achieve excellence. May develop and manage outsourcing budgets, vendor relationships, or off-shore resources. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Applications Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     Schedule: Monday - Friday
    Hours: Full Time/Days

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Director of Business Development is responsible for driving business development and census by managing the admissions process at a skilled nursing center, building relationships with healthcare providers, discharge planners, and community representatives, supervising the admissions team, and partnering with the Administrator, Director of Nursing Services (DNS), and other leaders to overcome barriers to admissions and achieve census growth and stabilization.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1.  Exercises ethical and sound decision making in managing the entire admissions process of the center, including supervision of admissions staff. Works with respective departmentsto direct and coordinate all admissions.
    2. Independently identifies and builds strategic relationships with outside partners including but not limited to medical centers offices, and clinics, home health and hospice agencies, assisted living communities, senior centers, and other healthcare organizations and potential referral sources.
    3. Develops and implements strategic plansto promote skilled nursing center(s) to community hospitals and agencies in accordance with Prestige directives. Implements marketing strategies.
    4. Promotes services to potential residents and families by highlighting service offered and differentiators, providing tours, and answering questions and inquiries.
    5. Reviews potential admissions for appropriateness for services. Collaborates with the clinical team to identify care goals to ensure that adequate resources, environments, and services can be provided to prospective patients. Reviews payer source to ensure there is adequate funding/insurance available. Provides resources for alternative placement when necessary.
    6. Partners with the Administrator and DNS to ensure that personnel are available to maintain the highest practicable level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being for the prospective patient and meets the state and federal regulations for staffing.
    7. Manages the admission process of each new patient including initial screening, admission paperwork, communicating with all departments to prepare for new admission, and ensuring patient room is ready before the patient arrives. Follows-up with the resident and resident’s family or agent.
    8. Provides supervision and leadership to assigned admission team members by managing workflow, and ensuring key deliverables are met within specified timeframes. Responsible for selection, training, coaching, performance management, and annual reviews for assigned team members.
    9. Participates as part of the leadership team by actively contributing with problem solving, decision making, center and company-wide initiatives, and attending leadership team meetings.
    10. Collaborates with Administrator in reviewing and keeping the admissions and marketing department within budget.
    11. Represents Prestige and the community in welcoming prospective residents, family members, referral sources, and the public in a positive, helpful, and caring manner demonstrating company mission and philosophy.
    12. Maintains professional knowledge of industry trends and best practices through continuing professional education, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
    13. Provides on-call and after hours support for admissions to ensure timely response.
    14. Ensures that all the center’s programs, policies, and procedures are followed to fulfill administrative responsibility and professionalresponsibility.
    15. Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in skilled nursing or hospital setting. Experience with admission coordination, outside sales, marketing plans, and public relations. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Individual must be a team player, well organized, self-motivated, and flexible.

    EDUCATION

    Associates Degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    PTO:
    SNF/AL/PCI Salary: Accrue PTO at rate of 0.0615/hour during their first year/16 days.
    SNF/PCI Hourly: Full-time and Part-Time team members (over 20 hours/week) accrue PTO at rate of 0.0423/hour during their first year.
