Applications Development Manager manages a team of analysts or developers responsible for the organization's internal application development and analysis function. Evaluates existing applications to determine technical changes, schedules projects, resources, and monitors project timelines. Being an Applications Development Manager oversees feasibility researches, estimates project timeline and cost. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Applications Development Manager typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The Applications Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Applications Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Software Applications Development, Project Leader
Location: Niagara Falls, ON (Hybrid)My client, is a medium-size Canadian company located in Niagara Falls and are a leader in design and manufacture of thermal processing equipment and associated material handling devices.
The role:- Project planning & scheduling
- Experience with Visual Basic .NET
- SCADA software programming (Intouch, FactoryTalk View, WinCC)
- Computer hardware selection and integration
- Understanding of databases, primarily Microsoft SQL
- Familiarity with OPC servers
- Basic understanding of networking including industrial networks
- Integrating systems with existing customer IT infrastructure
- Experience with CAD design software such as AutoCAD or EPlan would be an asset
- PLC & HMI experience beneficial – specifically AB & Siemens
- Specification/manual writing & material demand releases
- Sub-contractor liaison and report writing
Applicants should be willing to travel to the field periodically to assist in install or commissioning of his/her projects.
The candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a three year Engineering Technology diploma
- Strong verbal and written communications
- Outstanding team working and organizational skills
- Creativity and flexibility to adapt to constantly changing requirements
- Eligibility to hold a Canadian passport and able to travel the world
- Valid un-restricted drivers license
