    Job Description

    This position involves applying lawn care and pest control products on residential and commercial client properties. Your purpose is to ensure proper lawn, tree, and pest applications are applied timely and safely using hand and powered equipment to apply fertilizer, insecticides, fungicides and herbicides. As an applicator technician, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and correcting landscape needs. Educating and communicating is just as important as how the applications are applied. You will become well respected in your knowledge and execution. Understanding the needs of the lawn, tree, and or pest control you will also sell all necessary services they may need.  This is a great opportunity to work for a growing company with a great family feel culture and atmosphere.


    Position Description

    The essential duties of this position include the following:


    • Working individually using hand and powered equipment to apply fertilizer, insecticides, fungicides and herbicides for pest and weed control in lawn and ornamentals.
    • Must be able to obtain Applicator’s license within 30 days of hire and maintain license.
    • Unload and load equipment at each property, remove loose trash and debris from landscape area prior to servicing area.
    • Interact and ask questions of customers if they are present when job is completed, to determine customer concerns and existing conditions.
    • Sell additional services to existing and prospective customers
    • Perform thorough inspection and evaluation of customer properties
    • Properly identify insects, weeds, and fungus conditions, as well as pest harborage areas and conducive conditions, and prescribe corrective measures
    • Document service using handheld technology and/or complete accurate and legible service documents and provide to customer
    • Operate company vehicle in compliance with federal, state, local laws and company policy. Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
    • Follow proper safety protocols while working with equipment.
    • Maintain equipment and tools in good working order.
    • May be required to work outside of normal schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as it may be necessary to fulfill the duties or the needs of the business.
    • Maintain a neat and clean appearance.
    • Follow safety regulations and work in a safe manner.


    Qualifications

    • 0– 2 years of related experience in a customer service environment
    • Previous Lawn care experience (preferred)
    • Must enjoy working outdoors and be able to work in temperature ranges from teens to over 90 degrees and in varying weather conditions
    • Strong Customer and Client Focus
    • Able to analyze situations and determine appropriate resolution
    • Ability to manage time effectively
    • Possess high communication skills
    • Must be able to work on a team as well as individually
    • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record per company standards (required)


    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    • Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs. This movement can occur throughout the day.
    • Must be able to lift 50-pound bags of fertilizer, load, unload, push, lift and guide rotary spreader with a total weight of 80-100 pounds and maneuver 400-foot spray hose.
    • Push and pull work below your feet, dig holes and walk long distances in all weather conditions.
    • Travel to and from work locations required and employee may drive a company vehicle.
