Our client in Albany, NY has an immediate need for a Clinical Applications Administrator. Salary range is 60-80K and requires on-site support. This is not a remote or hybrid role.
Job Summary
Clinical Application Administrator will provide technical support by monitoring clinical systems health and performance, application configuration and maintenance, drive system and application upgrades with the clinical teams and vendors, and assist IT with clinical hardware support when needed; especially with printers and computers. Assist with setup, configuration and maintenance of interfaces and third-party applications.
Functional support includes providing knowledge of the clinical systems and how they work, understanding the users’ workflows, interfaces, end user training and support, documentation of the systems, application testing and some project management. Administrative functions include the Health Commerce System administration, monitoring immunization management (NYSIIS) and the health information exchange (HIXNY). Salary is 60K-80K and is not a remote position. The successful candidate will be work between 2 locations in the Albany and Cohoes area.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in field of Computer Science and at least 5 years of job-related experience, EHR Application Support and/or Development experience highly desired
• Experience with Practice Management software
• Understanding of Medical Claims Billing
• Knowledge of application testing and implementation methodologies
• Knowledge of databases and report generation
• Understanding of the clinical forms used by the providers to record the encounters and order tests.
• Able to extract data using SQL Queries from the EMRs for reporting.
• Experience with the Windows Based Operating Systems, MS SQL, SQL Server, Oracle SQL,.NET, html, java script, Crystal Reports, MS Power-BI
• Thorough understanding of system and application development life cycle and large-scale software implementation methodologies.
• Working knowledge of Athena Practice EMR, Point Click Care EHR and Therap.

Job Detail
● Responsible for the technical, functional and administrative support of applications and interfaces that run the clinical programs.
● Responsible for monitoring clinical systems and automated processes ensuring functionality. Takes corrective action to resolve any issues and prevent or minimize down time.
● Responsible for setup and maintenance of interfaces and third-party applications.
● Provides real time support to clinical system users.
● Acts as second level support to the help desk for clinical applications.
● Investigates and diagnoses user reported issues to determine source. Pro-actively takes ownership of these issues and implements solutions in collaboration with Clinical staff and IT.
● Creates and maintains technical documentation, including configuration and functionality, for all new and existing clinical applications and interfaces.
● Delivers functional end user training on new or enhanced applications and features.
● Works closely with Clinical staff to gain insight to clinical workflows and application requirements to accurately manage changes and enhancements to the clinical applications.
● Evaluates application change requests to determine feasibility and effort required to configure/update or enhance applications.
● Work with the IT Clinical Application Manager and project manager to coordinate Clinical software application upgrades and patches. Collaborates with IT and application users to test changes, enhancements, upgrades, patches and fixes.
● Provides support and documentation for new or enhanced clinical systems.
● Performs the set-up and maintenance for end-users security for designated applications. Ensures that application access privileges and usage align with IT security best practices.
● Works closely with IT Clinical Application Manager to execute EMR/EHR form development and customizations, including observation terms, ensuring accuracy and are completed and tested in a timely manner.
● Responsible for escalation of issues to the IT Clinical Application Manager and appropriate vendors, Clinical staff and IT Department when necessary.
● Executes onboarding of new and rehired clinical staff, ensuring they have needed access to any clinical applications in a timely fashion.
● Adheres to IT Security policies and procedures
● Assists with research of existing and new products or applications to solve known problems or bring new functionality to client.
● Assists with extracting clinical data from systems and creating reports as needed
