Applications Engineering Manager manages all solutions support activities, including the pre-sales scoping process and the post-sales design and implementation activities for complex technical products. Oversees sales demo preparation and delivery and facilitates technical requirements gathering sessions. Being a Applications Engineering Manager ensures the review of customer technical specifications is accurate and provides solid recommendations of specific products or services. Leads the planning and design of product configuration, custom solutions, enhancements, or upgrades and directs the delivery of problem resolution, repairs, or workarounds. Additionally, Applications Engineering Manager may deliver technical product training or information sessions to customers and internal audiences. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Applications Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Applications Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Regional Sales Manager leads the sales and service activities in assigned area through Territory Managers and Service Technicians. The Regional Sales Manager ensures sales growth, customer trust, and profitable service work is done for the assigned area. This role will be instrumental in achieving the desired growth of sales in the area. This position will ensure total territory coverage and meet or exceed the needs of our customers through proper application of products, services, and systems. The Regional Sales Manager will work with marketing, inside sales and other areas to ensure the best coverage of the assigned area. This position requires a minimum of 50% travel.

    Specific Responsibilities:

    • Manage sales channels to assure all appropriate product/service are being sold. Leads the promotion of Martin’s products and services in the assigned area.
    • Lead the development of a sales strategy that will drive sustainable sales growth, profit margin growth, increased customer satisfaction and increased market share for the area.
    • Develop/perform sales and service training to assure acceptable levels of expertise in product/service, application and industry knowledge.
    • Travel to key accounts as needed to assist sales force in the resolution of those problems. Develop partnering relationships with key accounts. As needed, review project specifications and outline requirements for proposals and alternative proposals and solutions.
    • Seeks out new service plans to support sales individually and through other Martin employees. Ensure service work is performed safely, to high quality standards and profitably.
    • Lead the efforts to gather and utilize the tools available to track customer data, quotes, etc.
    • Leads sales campaigns/promotions, with marketing, inside sales and other areas to ensure success of the campaigns.
    • Troubleshoot problem applications and negotiates mutually satisfactory solutions for Martin and customers.

    Education, Experience & Training:

    • Bachelors in Marketing or Business or Engineering preferred or equivalent work experience
    • 5 or more years of related Martin Sales experience required
    • 5 or more years of product training experience required
    • Accomplished leader of teams who follows and promotes company values.
