I. POSITION SUMMARY
Plans, organizes, coordinates, directs, and controls Magic Valley Electric’s Division Engineering Department to ensure maximum utilization of personnel, material, and financial resources and provides for the long range system requirements through the design, preparation of specifications for the construction and maintenance and inspection of distribution lines.
A. Reports to: Division Manager
B. Supervises: Engineering Assistants, Mapping Technicians, and Staking Technicians
A. Directs all distribution engineering activities including system design, long and short range planning, system improvements and the development of operating policies and procedures. Establishes engineering standards.
B. Coordinates/prepares bid specifications and contracts for Distribution additions.
C. Prepares system studies, analyzes, and makes recommendations based on studies.
D. Reviews RUS Engineering and Construction Bulletins and recommends and needs for corrective action.
E. Ensures that all department personnel receive training, understand and comply with all safety rules and regulations.
F. Ensures proper stocking level in Division Warehouse.
G. Observes all safety rules.
H. As a member of the management team, this position is responsible for the provision of a full range of supervisory activities including but not limited to the selection, training, and evaluation of section personnel, planning, and the completion of special projects as delegated.
