Applications Engineering Manager manages all solutions support activities, including the pre-sales scoping process and the post-sales design and implementation activities for complex technical products. Oversees sales demo preparation and delivery and facilitates technical requirements gathering sessions. Being a Applications Engineering Manager ensures the review of customer technical specifications is accurate and provides solid recommendations of specific products or services. Leads the planning and design of product configuration, custom solutions, enhancements, or upgrades and directs the delivery of problem resolution, repairs, or workarounds. Additionally, Applications Engineering Manager may deliver technical product training or information sessions to customers and internal audiences. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Applications Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Applications Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     We are seeking a Licensed Professional Engineer to join our Waterway Structures team as a Senior Project Manager! Our Project Managers help to mine and manage task orders from USACE and coordinate project work regionally and nationwide.

    This position has growth potential for a Regional Civil Works Principal or Practice Leader Position in the future!


    Responsibilities

    • Manage resources, schedules, financials, management issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.
    • Ensure the success of the projects under his/her management.
    • Handle all aspects for a project.
    • Provide leadership to individuals within and outside of CED.
    • Plan, organize, and supervise the work and workload of project staff.
    • Monitor project costs to ensure that project is delivered within budget, fulfills customer expectations, maintains profitability, and/or aligns with the company strategic objectives.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Structural, Civil, Hydraulic/Hydrologic, and/or Water Resources Engineering is required, but a Master's Degree or PPM Certification is preferred.
    • 10 years' experience managing task orders for Flood Risk Management, Ecosystem and Coastal Restoration, Dam Safety and/or Waterway Structures projects.
    • 10 years experience working on USACE and/or SFWMD projects and contracts.
    • Coastal and/or island engineering experience is a plus!
    • Ability to lead multi-discipline projects for public sector clients.
    • Proven ability to manage and lead multi-disciplinary teams meeting schedule, budget, and quality goals.
    • Proven ability to identify, pursue, and win work from existing and new clients.
    • Ability to work remotely with team members in other offices.
    • Familiarity with construction engineering services and alternative delivery procurement methods.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Business development experience is required.
    • Previous mentoring and coaching experience.
    • Ability to recruit technical staff.
    • Some travel may be required for this position.

    Compensation: $102,000 - $132,000 DOQ.
