The Applications Engineering Manager works within the Business Development Team and oversees the activities of an Applications Engineering team. The Applications Engineering team’s primary responsibility is to assist in winning projects by planning, directing, and executing the development of business proposals to potential and existing customers. The main department objectives are providing solutions that best meet the customers' needs, ensuring accurate budgets, and supporting the sales and operations teams to successfully win and execute the best solutions for our customers.

The ideal candidate can perform and/or provide leadership in the following areas:

• Establish new and maintain existing relationships with variety of customers.
• Gather necessary requirements and create a concept that provide the best solution for the customer.
• Create an accurate budget for proposed solutions using a variety of sources and inputs.
• Work with the team to develop an outstanding proposal for the customer.
• Be the internal voice of the customer to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
• Mentor Applications Engineering team members.
• Execute Koops’ strategic plans and recommend changes to the management team.
• Possess a team mindset and desire to work together as an employee-owner (ESOP).
• Operate with a high standard of integrity.
• Responsive and able to provide leadership in uncertain situations.
• Evaluate key performance metrics and coach the team to meet the targets. 

• Four-year college or university degree in Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Preferred 5 years of experience in manufacturing or custom factory automation
• Ability to travel 10-20%
