    Onsemi is searching for a PLC Programmer to set up, maintain and repair electronic systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) for our automation systems and manufacturing equipment. You’ll test system performance, make changes to ladder logic, Test & Debug the software, validate functionality, and need require the skillset to troubleshoot systems as well. This position will report to the Director of Facilities.
    This role requires hands-on experience using various hand and power tools to calibrate and align system components and circuitry, as well as PLC connectivity to a variety of platforms, such as, Allen Bradley PLC’s and other Rockwell Software components. To succeed in this position, you should also be able to comprehend and follow complex technical manuals, electrical schematics, and comprehend various PLC environments.
    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Designing and developing control programs for electrical machines and systems.
    • Looking for fault diagnostics and performing maintenance as needed.
    • Developing and optimizing PLC processes.
    • Visualizing processes to ensure a system is operating to its full potential.
    • Training clients on how to properly use PLC systems.
    • Providing customer service and technical support through various means of communication.
    • Working within project timelines and budgets.
    • Assists in the documentation of routine preventive maintenance tasks, and review of such documents.
    • Communicates issues with third party equipment vendors as needed to expedite troubleshooting and repairs.
    • Sustains and improves Building Management System (BMS) on all operations and facilities equipment.
    • Authors accurate documentation for the operation and maintenance of various automated industrial equipment.
    • Test, tune, and adjust equipment to obtain optimum operating performance.
    • Develops or improves techniques to meet quality, function, and cost standards.
    • Works with electrical systems and electronic components of complex industrial machinery and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications.
    • Utilizes predictive maintenance coding techniques to collect equipment performance data. Observes trends and makes recommendations.
    • Contributes to team goals by accomplishing tasks on-budget, and on-schedule.
    • Other duties as needed or assigned.

    Qualifications

    *
    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or relatable.

    • Minimum of 4 years’ PLC programming experience, within the Rockwell and Allen Bradley Programmable Logix platforms with a strong manufacturing background.
    • Must have excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude.
    • Understands electrical, mechanical, fluid power and controls systems preferred.
    • Experience working with detailed schematics & interpreting blueprints & drawings.
    • Can analyze the problem, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs to ladder logic.
    • ISO 9001 and ISO 16949 experience.
    • Read and understand technical/repair manuals and vendor resources.
    • Hands on maintenance experience with operating, repairing, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical manufacturing equipment.
    • Experience using electrical testing equipment and expert knowledge and use of power and hand tools.
    • Ability to work in a complex environment with broadly defined parameters, requiring a high degree of judgment and initiative.
    • Capable of managing multiple priorities at a time.
    • Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Must be self-motivated, showing initiative and drive to exceed performance expectations.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and adjust to rapidly changing priorities.

    PLC Programmers experienced in the following platforms are very beneficial:

    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • AutoCAD
    • Digital multi-meter
    • Micro Logix Controllers
    • Rockwell, Allen Bradley, and Siemens PLC’s
    • Building Management Software Packages
    • Wonderware
    • Historian Software
    • MES abilities are a Plus
