Applications Programming Manager manages teams and implements policies and procedures related to the design, analysis, testing, coding, and implementation of applications. Enhances operations by establishing metrics, analyzing processes, and implementing standard methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. Being an Applications Programming Manager reviews development proposals, projects, timelines, resources, and costs. Leads feedback processes for peer reviews, code reviews, and design reviews. Additionally, Applications Programming Manager establishes a performance culture by incorporating individual and team coaching and mentoring to achieve excellence. May manage outsourcing budgets, vendors, or off-shore resources. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Applications Programming Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Applications Programming Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • The Bellwood-Antis Public Library seeks a Programming & Outreach Specialist to develop, present, and coordinate library activities for patrons of all ages in the library and throughout the Bellwood-Antis community. This is a part time position with a minimum of 20 hours a week, but more hours may be needed when the library is preparing for a major event (fundraising or programming). Working evenings regularly and Saturdays occasionally is required.

    Functions and Responsibilities:

    ● Coordinates services including developing, planning, and presenting library programming.

    ● Develops, coordinates, and conducts outreach activities and services, while serving as a library liaison to community agencies.

    ● Provides direct public service at the circulation desk, as needed.

    ● Works well with the public and other employees.

    ● Reports problems and needs to the Library Director

    ● Performs other duties as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to provide courteous public service and to present clear explanations of established policies and procedures; willingness and ability to grant logical exceptions to Library policies and procedures when warranted
    • Knowledge of and ability to be trained in the various technological advances
    • Ability to think and act appropriately under pressure
    • Ability to multi-task and handle interruptions
    • Willingness to assist and support co-workers, contribute ideas, maintain flexibility, and be able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
    • Ability to perform routine and non-routine procedures involving many steps.
    • Ability to follow complex written and verbal instructions, paying attention to details
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • A strong desire to serve the public with friendliness, tact and diplomacy

    Education, Experience and Training Needed:

    • Associate’s Degree or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Must have adequate computer skills

    • Must have a clean driving record

    Job Type: Part-time

    Pay: $15.00 per hour
