    Job Description:
    The Clinical Application Specialist for the Radiology Information System (RIS) provides direct end-user support services to patient care teams in clinical work settings to facilitate the introduction, acceptance, integration, and effective use of the Radiology Information System. The Clinical Application Specialist (RIS) is instrumental in configuration, deployment and support activities for all clinical activities supported by the RIS. This position will provide essential communication and support between teams and departments. Expertise and focus will be centric to support radiology systems with general knowledge of all supporting ancillary systems.

    Essential Duties:
    This position requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, as the consequences of even a minor mistake can be significant for patients and providers. Other duties as assigned.
    • Configuration, management, troubleshooting, and support of the RIS platform and radiology related information systems processes.
      • Works with the operational, clinical and IT teams to coordinate build upgrades, disseminating information to departments as needed.
      • Builds templates, tables, queries, queues etc., as requested to streamline patient, process workflow.
      • Work with radiologists, technologists, and operational users to support their workflows and troubleshoot issues.
      • Provide assigned on-site support during go-lives and system upgrades.
    • Create and maintain training material and provide training to end users.
    • System support may involve changes or new functionality within a site’s current system or the implementation of the system at a new site.
    • Develop and deploy test scripts to review and test changes, enhancements, and each new release as assigned.
    • Analyze data conversion needs.
    • Assist with all quality assurance processes, including change management and testing efforts.
    • Manages and performs assigned projects in a professional and efficient manner.
    • May be called upon afterhours to support assigned systems as the Tier II or III subject matter expert.
    • Must possess strong interpersonal skills for interacting within all levels of the company.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
    Education and Experience:
    Requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with clinical information systems and/or equivalent education and work experience.
    Familiarity with RIS platforms preferred. Previous experience in ancillary clinical system administration is desirable. Healthcare experience is required.
