Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The position coordinates the Training Programs and Grants for KDADS. Has oversight of the grantee(s) organization's services, all reporting, data collection and recommended changes to the grant. Works with grantee(s) to develop Behavior Supports training models for families to better manage and support family members with behavioral support needs. This position will also provide support to the mobile crisis team for I/DD supports in crisis management. Works with KDADS program, quality and licensing staff to improve programs. Recommends changes to policies as needed. Collaborates with consumers, advocacy groups, families and providers to help shape policy. Attends webinars, conferences and meetings to gather information on best practices in training in behavior supports and crisis services.
Incumbent supports Director of HCBS Initiatives by coordinating and reporting on progress of grants to all necessary entities. This position requires exceptional time-management skills, communication, customer service and compassion for those served by a variety of HCBS waiver programs. Position requires ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given and standard accepted practices.

Reports/collaborates with Director of HCBS Special Initiatives to monitor and report progress on grants as well as makes recommendations on improvements/changes needed to the Waitlist and TCM study grants.
Completes special projects and performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to ensuring the agency is adequately staffed during and immediately following natural and/or manmade disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, and/or acts of terrorism. Assists other employees in the work unit in accomplishing assignments as necessary.
