Dana Yorktown, IN is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Applications Engineer. The main responsibilities of this position are to provide technical, and strategic support to Dana SAC Sales team and Customers and address questions related to all Dana's industrial product line and its proper application. Some travel required.
* Provides leadership for Dana's internal and external customers in all assigned tasks, while always upholding Dana's core values and policies.
* Provide leadership and guidance for the Sales team by developing design proposals to meet customer specifications, certifications, and documentation requirements (specification analysis, selection, estimate & costing, quotation). Liaising with Dana Global Industrial team when necessary.
* Responsible for entire project management process of complex applications and products with dedicated scope requirements, such as external items from third party suppliers (Motors, Sensors, special designed components, etc.)
* Prepare and conduct technical presentations (Customer and Dana internal).
* Provide technical and tactical leadership to work collaboratively with Dana SAC internal functions - Program Management, Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, Warranty, and Engineering Management during design, sourcing, application, and production.
* Participate, when requested by the Sales Network, in negotiation/complex negotiation to assure technical support to Regional Sales Manager/Area Manager/Sales Network.
* Support the Quality and After-market team with product & application technical problem solving to address issues quickly on field and in-house.
* Work directly with Dana's Global Product Engineering team to develop and test new products when required to meet local North America market requirements.
* Contributes to Dana SAC internal functions development by highlighting critical issues and enabling corrective measures also producing technical and training documentation, leading internal courses as an instructor.
Qualification/Competencies/Position Requirements:
* Excellent mechanical aptitude, along with strong analytical capability.
* Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within Dana in a professional manner Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
* Prior project management experience and abilities with strong customer relationship skills
* Must be self-directed and motivated individual who is willing to accept responsibility.
Education and Experience:
* Four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from accredited university preferred. Consideration may be given to candidates with other engineering degrees with strong experience in Power Transmission systems (Mechanical and Hydraulic).
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in the Power Transmission Sector; Industrial gearboxes and hydraulic systems.
