ERP/Colleague Programming Supervisor
Overview
The Colleague/ERP Programming Supervisor is responsible for hands-on management of expanding and enhancing academic, administrative, and special purpose systems associated with Ellucian Colleague, the College’s Enterprise Resource Planning System.
Specific Responsibilities
Manage Colleague development projects
Set development standards and techniques
The individual will be assigned and expected to complete his/her own Colleague development projects
Ensure Colleague development projects don’t negatively affect other Colleague processes/projects
Hands-on supervision of the development and support of the College’s Application/Decision Support services associated with the Colleague system and its staff. Responsible for assuring all application/decision support systems associated with the Colleague system are available to users on a 7 x 24 basis. Previous experience building and maintaining applications in Ellucian Colleague.
Manages and directs the Colleague application design team. Supervises activities in the performance of end-user support and troubleshooting functions, including resource planning and scheduling. Collaborating with technicians, deans, department managers and ITS team managers on supporting the College’s business and instructional needs.
Plans, coordinates, and monitors the progress of development projects to assure their ongoing alignment with instructional and administrative goals. Collaborating with programmers/analysts, deans, departments to set development standards and techniques to ensure all processes run efficiently within the Colleague system.
Participates in decisions concerning hardware and software acquisitions associated with the Colleague system, including the analysis and evaluation of and preparation of technical specifications to support instructional delivery models and business applications.
Evaluates and recommends new programs, applications and tools.
Provides consultations to departments, faculty and others to determine technology, eLearning and/or educational technology needs and identify solutions.
Manages and mentors a staff of Colleague support professionals. Evaluates performance of the staff, and reports on personnel activities to management.
Leads and/or facilitates discussion of technical issues relevant to this area of the department
Maintains competency and enhances professional growth and development through continuing education and conferences.

Education
Experience
5 years or more of experience in an IT application/decisions support services environment combined with 2 years of management experience. Experience with multiple operating systems, programming languages, and application systems including; UNIX, .Net, Colleague, SQL Server and others. Strong oral and written communications skills to facilitate multidisciplinary project teams in accomplishing strategic goals.
