Applications Programming Supervisor supervises the teams and daily activities needed for the analysis, testing, coding, and implementation of applications. Monitors operational metrics and processes and implements standard methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. Being an Applications Programming Supervisor supports multiple development projects with scheduling, planning, and resource allocation. Conducts feedback processes, including peer reviews, code reviews, and design reviews. Additionally, Applications Programming Supervisor fosters a performance culture using individual and team coaching and mentoring to achieve excellence. May supervise vendors or off-shore resources. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Applications Programming Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Northern Arizona University is seeking a self-driven, multifaceted full-time programmer to join its Enterprise Information Services (EIS) Development Team in the Information Technology Services (ITS) department. This position will develop solutions both individually and with team members to unique problems across multiple projects. The team focuses on ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET, and front-end web development (Bootstrap and AngularJS) but some projects lend themselves to other languages including PHP, NodeJS, Java, and other languages. The ability to switch between languages as needed is a huge plus. The EIS Development Team is a full stack team; they each handle challenges from server administration to database schema design to highly interactive front-end design and everything in between. The university is mobile focused and the team practices mobile-first, responsive design principles. Any mobile web platform/application (Modo, Bootstrap or similar) and experience in UX / Information Architecture design is a huge plus.

This position has been identified as a safety/security sensitive position. Salary range begins at $54,779. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore will not earn overtime or compensatory time for additional time worked.
This is a Classified Staff (CLS) position.
