Position Summary
As part of the Information Services Leadership Team, the Technical Applications Specialist Supervisor will be a working supervisor that is also responsible for supervising other Application Specialist. Core responsibilities include oversight of software vendor relationship, coordinating vendor software installs, upgrades, patching, coordinating with End User Desktop Support, Networking and Cybersecurity. These duties will be in accordance with defined IS service levels. This role will work with the Manager of Imaging Applications and Director of Imaging, Lab and Integration to plan, implement, and defined goals and programs in support of departmental applications at ECU Health. The departmental applications consist of single desktop computers as well as full client and server implementations.
The Supervisor of Technical Applications Specialist will contribute to the planning, budgeting, design, implementation, operation, and performance of departmental applications. This includes managing day-to-day operations, improving application costs, and maintaining/improving application performance and end-user satisfaction. This employee works as a key member of the leadership team to ensure that the overall Applications Specialist department is meeting its strategic and operational goals and acts as a trusted advisor. This position builds and maintains relationships with other Information Systems and business leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensures cost-effective delivery of application support to meet those needs and is able to respond with agility to changing business priorities.
This individual ensures that all staff demonstrates the required competence, customer service skills and business process knowledge to resolve issues. The Technical Applications Specialist Supervisor works proactively with leaders of all levels across Information Technology and ECU Health in managing departmental application user issues while maintaining exceptional customer services. The candidate will leverage their years of hands-on application and managerial experience with various technologies, applications, workstations to ensure quick resolution of incidents and requests, minimal application disruption and downtime, root cause analysis, and service improvements. Additionally, the candidate will draw on IT service management and project management skills to maximize collaboration and productivity of their staff, along with providing effective application support.
