Applications Programming Supervisor supervises the teams and daily activities needed for the analysis, testing, coding, and implementation of applications. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Applications Programming Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Responsibilities

    GENERAL PURPOSE:

    Working closely with the OEI Chief of Staff and with significant latitude for independent judgement and initiative, the Assistant Director of Programming oversees all OEI-led DEIJ programmatic activities and grant-funded contracts across the university. The Assistant Director maintains and grows existing successful programs, and pursues additional funding for programs that align with the university's Strategic Plan and the Vice President for Equity and Inclusion's vision.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    PROJECT MANAGEMENT

    • Conducts gap analyses on special problems, prepares reports, and makes recommendations for programming that will advance the University's mission and goals related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
    • Monitors progress of programs and events activities and ensures all critical implementation criteria are met.
    • Manages project scope, timeline, and milestones; identifies, tracks, and manages risks and issues to resolution.
    • Supervises the Project Manager II and the Event Planning Specialist II, and ensures that all OEI projects are on track in terms of scope, timeline, and, working in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Budget and Operations, budget.
    • Oversees and optimizes cross-project resources.
    • Negotiates inter-project dependencies.

    PROGRAMMATIC AND GRANT MANAGEMENT

    • Completes and securely stores all program-related documentation, ensuring that it is accurate, up-to-date, and high quality.
    • Stays apprised of trends in the funding landscape and shifting funder priorities.
    • Manages each program and grant's lifecycle and plans ahead for key milestones, such as program renewal, application, site visits, reporting deadlines, and grant close-out.
    • In close collaboration with the Senior Program Planning Analyst, strategizes, implements, and analyzes programmatic evaluation.
    • Continually works to improve program outcomes.
    • Leads grant writing efforts and serves as the primary liaison for grant funders.

    STAFF MANAGEMENT

    • Oversees professional and administrative staff, including six direct reports.
    • Provides ongoing supervision and training, and conducts performance reviews.
    • Collaborates with Assistant Director of Budget and Operations to manage personnel issues and actions
    • Discovers team needs, develops clear project roadmaps, and leads team in executing priorities based on needs

    RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

    • Develops and maintains positive relationships with community members, vendors, program stakeholders, funders, and other university departments.
    • Consults with other leaders to identify team needs, develop programming to mitigate needs, and lead cross-functional teams in implementing solutions-based programming.
    • Represents the department in cooperative programs with other institutions and in grant negotiations with public and private organizations.
    • Serves on inter-departmental committees as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's Degree required
    • Master's Degree or Terminal Degree preferred
    • 5 years of relevant experience including leadership, project management, and diversity equity, and inclusion, including at least 2 years at a managerial level required
    • Experience successfully leading or managing grant-funded program preferred
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience required
    • Knowledge of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 1991 Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title IX of the Education Amendments, Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, and other related regulations preferred.
    • Knowledge of trends and issues impacting diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education and/or academic medicine preferred.
    • Conflict resolution, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to research and interpret information/reports, exceptional interpersonal skills in dealing with complex issues within equity, diversity, and inclusion and social justice required.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
    • Effective at managing complex and multiple projects in a fast-paced environment required.
    • Required competencies: emotional intelligence, confidentiality, and privacy understanding and application. Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information required.

    Pay Range

    Pay Range: $84,718 - $127,088 Annually

    The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined byconsidering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
