Applications Programming Supervisor supervises the teams and daily activities needed for the analysis, testing, coding, and implementation of applications. Monitors operational metrics and processes and implements standard methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. Being an Applications Programming Supervisor supports multiple development projects with scheduling, planning, and resource allocation. Conducts feedback processes, including peer reviews, code reviews, and design reviews. Additionally, Applications Programming Supervisor fosters a performance culture using individual and team coaching and mentoring to achieve excellence. May supervise vendors or off-shore resources. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Applications Programming Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Applications Programming Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.   • Job Summary:

    Supporting one or more areas in Applications Department (lawn, tree, weed), ensure that customer expectations are met through direct supervision of employees in area of responsibility.  Oversee field operation and maintain work quality of all accounts; ensure operations performed by employees are done in a safe and concise manner, including but not limited to operating equipment and vehicles. Covers accounts due to absenteeism. Inspect activities of employees, identify and provide/oversee training and retraining as needed. Maintain employee morale, investigate and resolve issues promptly and fairly in accordance with established policies. Ensure workforce labor is utilized effectively.

    This is an hourly, non-exempt position. The pay range is $25.72 - $31.00 per hour (Dependent on experience).

    Employment/Human Resources:  

    • Responsible for aspects of department staffing, including interviewing and selecting new employees, evaluations, recommending pay increases, and terminations.   
    • Ensure team is properly trained, certified, and licensed to perform their assigned job functions.  
    • Conduct site inspections and provide ongoing training as needed.  

    Compliance:  

    • Respond to customer complaints  
    • Order equipment and supplies  
    • Maintain Landscape Contractors License  
    • Maintain a high level of good housekeeping and care of company assets in the field, vehicles, shop field offices and customer work sites.  
    • Stay aware of Best Practices. Develop and recommend improved work methods and standards.  

    Financial:  

    • Work with manager to develop department budget; monitor wages, revenue %, capital budget, etc. against budget  
    • Develop and implement strategy for growing business and developing department assets  
    • Evaluate current contracts and oversee changes to scope and price to improve profitability.  

    Technical:  

    • Work in the field as needed including applications work.  
    • Provide technical assistance when needed.  
    • Manage snow removal and décor functions when needed.  

    Administrative:  

    • Review job completions daily, ensuring staff has appropriately closed completed work, and rescheduled work that is not complete  
    • Oversee payroll timekeeping functions for direct reports, ensuring field reporting and records are completed accurately and in a timely matter.

    This position manages technicians within the applications department and is responsible for the performance management; assists with hiring, transfer promotion, and termination of employees within that department. 

    Job Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent, prefer 2- or 4-year degree in horticulture, business or a related field  
    •  0 – 3 years of experience as a supervisor or manager in landscaping industry.    
    • Strong communication skills; thorough and attentive to details; able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline-oriented.  
    • Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
    • Ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors and employees at all levels of the organization.  
    • Valid driver's license and safe driving record  
    •  Excellent computer skills, including MS Outlook, Word and Excel. 
    • Effective oral and written communication skills. 
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, working with all levels in the organization. 
    • Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully. 
    • Must be able to obtain Applicator’s license within 30 days of hire and maintain license 
    • Maintain a neat and clean appearance as outlined in Senske’s employee handbook  
    • Follow safety regulations and work in a safe manner
